Flags for the Parachute Regt, the LVF and Israel are flown in the town and outside the Catholic primary school. The coping stones on the main bridge are painted red, white and blue. But if anyone in the CNR community decides to respond, it’s suddenly the biggest scandal ever.

Kilkeel is where I grew up. When I was 7 lads from another school called me a “fenian bitch” while on a ‘cross-community’ school trip. My granda, to this day, tells me to watch what I wear when I walk down the town ‘just in case’. It’s a bitter, anti-Catholic, hateful dump.

@christinafinn8 Foxhunting is a British colonial bloodsport. Nothing Irish about it. Certainly not a pastime any republican should support.

⚡️HAMAS: On the first anniversary of the martyrdom of the heroic commander and fighter Yahya Sinwar (Abu Ibrahim): The flame of the Flood will not fade, and the blood of the martyr leaders strengthens the path of resistance for generations. We renew our pledge to remain steadfast on their path and loyal to their sacrifices and journey until the liberation of our land and sanctities. A full year has passed since that heroic epic witnessed by the world, led by the commander of the Al-Aqsa Flood battle, the martyr leader Yahya al-Sinwar, who concluded his life and long struggle of jihad and sacrifice advancing and not retreating, standing firm in the heart of the battle, raising his stick high, defying the might and brutality of the occupation. A year has passed since the martyrdom of this great national leader. Through the steadfastness, patience, and perseverance of our people, and the strength and bravery of our resistance, a national achievement was realized: an agreement that thwarted all of the occupation’s schemes during its aggression against our land and people. The agreement imposed the cessation of aggression, genocide, starvation, displacement, and ethnic cleansing, and achieved a prisoner exchange deal named “The Flood of the Free,” through which 1,968 Palestinian captives breathed freedom and the arrogance of the Zionist jailer was broken. On the first anniversary of the martyrdom of the heroic commander Yahya Sinwar, we proudly recall his pure life and blessed path. He lived as a fighter since his youth, standing firm and resilient against his jailers throughout 23 years of captivity, continuing the work of preparation, building, and planning after his release, until the dawn of October 7, 2023, when he humiliated the occupation, shook its fragile entity, shattered the myth of its army, and ascended as a martyr on the battlefield, engaged in combat until his final breath. We affirm that the martyrdom of brother commander Yahya Sinwar, and of all the leaders and symbols of the movement who preceded him on the path of struggle and resistance for liberation and return, will only increase our movement, our people, and our resistance in strength, steadfastness, and determination to hold firm to their principles, continue on their path, and remain loyal to their blood and sacrifices. The flame of the Al-Aqsa Flood will remain burning, pulsing with the spirit of steadfastness, adherence to rights, constants, and national unity. Its blaze will never fade from the hearts of our great people, no matter the cost or the magnitude of the occupation’s crimes. We remain faithful to the pledge of the martyr leaders: the banner will never fall and will continue to fly high, carried and defended by generations of our people until complete liberation and the establishment of the fully sovereign Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital. On the first anniversary of your martyrdom, O Abu Ibrahim, rest assured, you fulfilled the trust, you truly strove in the path of humbling the enemy, breaking its arrogance, humiliating its leaders, and shaking the foundations of its false entity. Though your pure body is absent from the soil of Gaza, your spirit soars through the heavens, filling the universe with the truth that the blood of martyrs writes eternal glory for Palestine and the Ummah. The enemy has failed to achieve its aggressive goals on the proud land of Gaza and was forced, humiliated, to cease fire, regaining its captives only under the will and conditions of the resistance. Mercy, glory, and eternity to the soul of the heroic martyr commander Yahya Sinwar (Abu Ibrahim) and to all the convoys of martyrs among the leaders, sons, and daughters of our people and our Ummah. We ask Allah the Almighty to grant them the highest ranks in Paradise among the prophets, the truthful, the martyrs, and the righteous, what an excellent companionship that is.

A reminder that students who peacefully protested the presence of a genocidal warmonger on our campus were brutalised and arrested by the RUC/PSNI in Nov 2024. I am proud that fellow QUB students protested their presence at the freshers fair yesterday. RUC off our campus!

Absolutely shameful scenes at QUB Student's Union today, following the deliberate intimidation of the PSNI. Our University's must be open space for learning and sharing views - not silencing or bullying others out. @QUBelfast

@Diana_uup @QUBelfast Dry up, Dianne. Students were unjustly attacked by the PSNI when they held a protest against genocide a few months back. Turn off your blinkers.
