NEW: Most classroom teachers are unable to adequately support students with special education needs, according to a new AG report. The report also raises concerns about rising EA absences, and students sent home when schools couldn't meet their needs. thetrillium.ca/news/education…

@fordnation Brutal. But keep up the hypocrisy, judging from the comments you're done with politics after this term.

National Nursing Week is a chance for us all to thank our incredible nurses for the compassionate care and support they provide every day. Since 2018, we’ve helped an historic 100,000 nurses join our province’s workforce. Thirty thousand more are currently studying at Ontario schools, many of them supported by our Learn and Stay Grant, which covers tuition for nurses who stay and work in underserved parts of the province. Happy National Nursing Week!

@WendyGoodes @MEEKSVS @lindahaslett @fordnation Was the jet just a distraction to push through FOI changes, which is an even bigger issue. The problem with leaders at all levels is that they are out of touch with the everyday struggles of their citizens.

Bill 101 has passed without meaningfully addressing feedback from education partners. The OPC remains concerned about the impact on students, increasing workload pressures for principals and vice-principals and the potential for disruption across Ontario’s education system. @MacLeodLisa Seriously? Laws are being pushed through that are eroding democracy. Kudos for them taking the time to stand up and fight for future generations.

@TeamKerzner @fordnation @Andrea_Khanjin And how about resending the 100+ dollar cash grab on fingerprints that have to be done because someone else has a criminal record.? When I have to get that done to apply for a job, I don’t get reimbursed. It’s not my fault that I share a birthday with a criminal.

Today, alongside @Andrea_Khanjin I was proud to announce that our government is taking action to speed up vulnerable sector police record checks so people can get to work and give back to their communities faster. These proposed measures would help reduce wait times, address backlogs and improve processing while maintaining strong safeguards to protect vulnerable people. This is part of our government’s ongoing work to protect Ontario and keep communities safe. Learn more: news.ontario.ca/en/release/100… @BarriePolice

@TeamKerzner @SylviaJonesMPP @Andrea_Khanjin I do not disagree with Police checks for the vulnerable sector, but why not have employers pay for them. Employees are already taxed so much. Is it because you are taking money from the worker as a cheap means to help the police budget?

It's McHappy Day and today a portion of every purchase at McDonald's gets donated directly to the Ronald McDonald House which raises funds to give sick children and their families the support they need. Take a moment to stop by and show your support.

Ford does not want to hear from parents about his changes to education. His government attempted to cut off parent input on an education bill without notice—but public pressure forced them to reverse course. #ONpoli

NEW: The Ford government tried to quietly close the public feedback period on its new education bill, changing the deadline to submit comments from May 13 to May 4 without notice. They reversed course after we asked why they were limiting public input: thetrillium.ca/insider-news/e…

The future is stronger when more women are at the table. It was a pleasure to speak at Unstoppable Toronto, hosted by the Canada Conservative Women’s Association. When more women are engaged in politics, we get better decisions that reflect the needs of the people we serve. Through mentorship, leadership development and strong networks, the CCWA will help more women step forward with confidence to take on greater roles in public life. Thank you, CCWA!
