If it’s broken and no one cares, is it broken?

Software features can be obvious, but with data, it's astounding. I am updating our health checks @niledatabase. Local dev (us-east) vs region latency (eu-central).🤯 We did a lot of work to make everything regional, and it makes a material benefit for our customers.

Shoutout to @scottydawg and @chokeamancer for delivering the global control-plane architecture and SDK that make this all possible and fun to use. It is a privilege to work with rockstar engineers every day.

One extra benefit of having Serverless Postgres anywhere is that, because you only pay for what you use, it is a no-brainer to give every developer a close by database and minimize latency for their daily work.

Today was a big day @niledatabase. We finally decommissioned the code we wrote for the initial idea. "Ideas are cheap, execution is everything", but if you're not executing on the right idea, velocity means nothing. Ideas are cheap. Product market fit is everything.

@niledatabase I take extreme offense to this. Not only is Big Mac the cutest thing on earth, he would never judge me for bring down prod. Ssh. He's sleeping.

Trying to decide if I need an ORM, and @DrizzleORM has a tree with a butt on home page. It seems like as good of a reason as any.

@saisrirampur @gwenshap @niledatabase Yet another cool thing about working at Nile. I agree with you, so I built it. A lot of small QOL stuff gets in the product built like that too… most recently the database switcher now remembers the page you’re on because I got tired of navigating to pages to test stuff

@gwenshap @niledatabase This is pretty cool. Helps get a foreign key graph across tables and identify tables that lack a tenant_id for backfilling. We used to do this very often during my times at Citus. A visualizer around this would have been very handy. Good stuff!
