Cold asking me for a "19 minute chat" reeks of you having read some pop psychology book and hoping I will somehow fall that cheap trick.🤮

@owroot I think they really do. They’re just concerned about who you’ve handed the keys to it to.

People fail to grasp how powerful and great this machine of America is. It's like they think it is some tiny country in Eastern Europe with a population of 2 million and a GDP less than that of Dallas. People don't understand what it is that they are even living in. They don't know how powerful these gears are, how long the game is, how big the purpose is, how great the ship is.

@LamarMK I guess it comes down to whether you want to be driven or to drive. Most EVs are soul-less if you like driving... I think the choice not to switch is largely driven by an enjoyment of driving rather than gas/no gas

I still don't know why more people haven't switched to EVs yet. I made the switch from gas to a Tesla in 2023 and you could never get me to buy a gas car again. Cheap to charge at home. No maintenance except washer fluid and tire rotations. Inexpensive insurance. The savings are huge. You can literally use what you save to pay or offset your entire car payment. Once you make the switch you'll wonder why you didn't do it sooner. What's holding you back from going electric?

Every measure you list involves spending wealth. You don’t list one measure that creates wealth. And if you don’t create wealth you will soon run out of it to spend, which is already happening (hence all your extra taxes and borrowing).

You'd have thought by now that the major platforms (Teams, Zoom) etc. had a way for you to not show AI bots as if they were participants with their cameras off by now.

I bought an Oura Ring a few years ago. After seeing the effect of a single drink on my HRV and RHR while sleeping, I stopped drinking completely and haven't looked back. I also found it useful to see the effect a lack of sleep was having. I changed a few things in response. I still wear it, but rarely check it.

This blows my mind. I used Whoop for a while. Here’s what I found: - I wasn’t using the data to change anything I workout almost daily no matter how i feel. Bad sleep rating? I have 3 kids. I can’t just catch up on sleep and recovery. Who is truly finding this information invaluable and actually using it to improve their life?

BREAKING: WHOOP RAISES $575M AT $10.1B VALUATION  I am pleased to announce that we’ve raised $575M at a $10.1B valuation to accelerate our mission of unlocking human performance and healthspan globally. This round was led by Collaborative Fund with participation from 2PointZero Group, Qatar Investment Authority (QIA), Mubadala Investment Company, Abbott, Mayo Clinic, Macquarie Capital, Glade Brook, B-Flexion, IVP, Foundry, Accomplice, Affinity Partners, Promus Ventures, and Bullhound Capital alongside a group of individual investors including Cristiano Ronaldo, LeBron James, Rory McIlroy, Virgil van Dijk, and Mathieu van der Poel. This investor group and this moment reflect a powerful evolution underway for Whoop and the broader healthcare market. Whoop was born in performance - trusted by the best athletes in the world to train, recover, and compete at the highest level. That foundation remains core to who we are. You see that in the iconic athlete investors joining this round.  But it also represents our push into broader health.  In the past 12 months, WHOOP has received medical clearances, launched blood testing, and created a platform that has saved lives. Abbott and Mayo Clinic - two of the most respected and influential institutions in global healthcare - are now investors in Whoop. These are organizations that have shaped modern medicine. Their decision to partner with us is a clear validation of where our technology is headed. Healthcare systems around the world are reactive. For too long, they have waited for people to get sick, then intervene. Chronic disease is rising and costs continue to climb. At Whoop, we believe the future looks fundamentally different. We are building the most powerful, personal, preventive health platform in the world - powered by continuous biometric data, advanced analytics, and AI to help people understand their bodies and improve their health in real time. I am grateful to our team, our members, and our partners for believing in this vision. I’ve been building this company for 14 years and I’ve never been more excited for the future.

If you send me something that's trying to engage me, but it looks like you might actually be trying to sell me something without being clear what that is, I am probably going to steer clear. Get you pitch clear and start again.

@matthere1 @tomfgoodwin The problem is that there is now so much cold email (aka spam) that, if it was a cold email, it is unlikely I would read it to know it was "pitch perfect".

Am I right in thinking that AI completely destroyed email marketing? I don't think anyone actually reads any emails anymore. Other than from existing known people on existing work.

i tried working from a coffee shop today instead of my office & it was impossible to get anything done. i was constantly distracted by one thing or another, from sounds to ppl moving around etc. it’s unclear to me how anyone is able to be productive working from a coffee shop.

Given there is an energy crisis, why is no effort being made to reduce consumption by encouraging more use of video calls? Most business travel is performative effort, not essential.

10 years ago, starting a company from scratch required $500K, a team of 5, and 18 months before first revenue. Today: domain expertise + AI tools + a Lean Canvas + 10 customer conversations. One founder with real knowledge is worth more than a funded team with none.

Britain is presently generating 71% of electricity from renewables and is exporting some to boot. Nuclear plus renewables is presently 85% of all electricity being generated. Good things are possible. Ignore the boomer Murdoch press.
