@shanselman @troyhunt @FBI Oh I love the coin aspect (I didn't realize they still did it!). Yours are far more meaningful. I got mine from the US DoD when they were running digital forensics challenges. Software guy now, and more proud of my tiny contribution to dotnet, but c'est la vie! Excuse the legs!

@davidfowl Awesome news @davidfowl! I have learnt so much from you over the years ❤️ Congratulations, and most of all, thank you 🎉

@goustocooking @YodelOnline And now it is saying it has been left in a safe place (front porch). We don't have a front porch, and it is nowhere to be seen around the outside of the property (flats).

English

@goustocooking @YodelOnline Hey @goustocooking, I didn't hear back from my DM, the parcel went back to the depot and then back out for delivery again this evening, I stayed up to receive it, and now the tracking is showing this. Pretty frustrated right now.

English

Hey @goustocooking, reckon you could do business with a more dependable courier than @YodelOnline? This isn't the first time we've had to deal with our dinner not turning up on time. Still waiting.

We’re thrilled to announce we’re the 4th best mid-sized company to work for in the UK!
Thank you @bestcompanies for hosting a few Gearcitizens for the awards dinner last night in London — how smart do the team look?! #BestCompanies2022

@RobSalesforce @GearsetHQ It was de-prioritised by @kevfromireland in favour of work items that didn't require a violation of the laws of physics 🙄 Can't win every battle, I guess.

@chrisdcmoore @GearsetHQ Next release - improved photons?

Probably one of my more amusing PR review comments over the years whilst working at @GearsetHQ

@RayRedacted Well @shanselman is going to have to be my choice, as he just seems like a downright lovely human being.

@fjfinch2 Beyond the initial reaction from them at forums.oneplus.com/threads/lets-t… regarding making user experience data collection opt-in, I'm afraid I don't have any more info on how that situation evolved. Good luck with your research!
English

@chrisdcmoore a couple of years ago you made a blog post about a privacy issue with open.oneplus[.]net. Do you happen to know if this is still occuring to the same extent? Currently doing some research about it, but haven't able to decrypt the HTTPS traffic bc of cert pinning

Congratulations to all of the organisations who have achieved a place on our Q2 East of England Regional League Table, and a special shout out to @GearsetHQ who has placed at the top of the table 🏆 #bestcompanieslive #bestcompanies2022

Had to RMA some DRAM to @CORSAIR this week (after over a year of ignoring the obvious signs that I had a problem with a new build) and their support has been _fantastic_. Couldn't have made an inconvenient process better, and Stephen in their support team has been fantastic. 👌

This exploit is not the usual “we overwrote some memory”. They abuse a file format description to create a virtual machine out of a handful of logical operators to compute addresses at runtime and required its own compiler. This is wild.

buried in this announcement is the absolutely crazy revelation that until 2 weeks ago, anyone could have published an update to any npm package. github.blog/2021-11-15-git… (HT @feross)

@Nick_Craver @ben_a_adams @stephentoub Thanks Nick! FWIW there was a semi-similar discussion from another part of the codebase at #issue-635980748" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">github.com/dotnet/runtime… a year ago about hardcoding sub-LOH thresholds, exposing the fact it was dynamic now, etc albeit involving the new ArrayPool stuff, which doesn't enter into it here
English

Does anyone know the reasoning behind XmlReader.AsyncBufferSuze being 64*1024? You wind up with the char[] buffer in the TextReader being guaranteed to be allocated on LOH for parsing even tiny XML streams. cc:@davidfowl you might know someone who knows?
English

Welp, I decided to go ahead and open an issue to ask about this: github.com/dotnet/runtime…
First time doing this sorta thing on the #dotnet repos so I'm feeling pretty anxious... @Nick_Craver you got any people there you've just met who can slap me down gently? 😂
English

Maybe @SitnikAdam can point me in the right direction? Worth me opening an issue on dotnet/runtime to discuss? Cursory benchmarking: halving that const seems a win gen 2 GC and alloc wise for small doc, but hurts perf for a certain range of doc sizes.
