@rainysayrelax @DJThriller28885 @best_clips__ Yeah. Accept lower standards! Lower your own standards! Take saints lead! Why be better when we can just say “so what everyone does it”. Except reality. Saint did. He knows he won’t be anything so why try? I feel ya. Preach.

@DJThriller28885 @best_clips__ People are always gonna break the rules, do bullshit and be pieces of shit. You can’t control everyone and if you’re not being paid to enforce those rules, your life is more important. handle your business, shut your mouth and except reality.

@harbingerofwoke The American mind can't comphrehend traditions. That's why the American experiment is failing spectacularly right now. Historical wisdom and continuity are viewed as inefficient weaknesses.

@valigo We just need something designed according to the reality of how desktop graphics work. That is all. (Part of this would involve overcoming the over-modularization fetish that resulted in the “compositor” being a totally separate system… etc.)

We used to do this. Some states still do. But most areas have removed gifted and talented and advanced placement programs in the name of equity. To be clear, the idea that children can solve the problems is cute. The idea is to identify them and set them up to be as productive as possible as they grow up.

“Scares people away from trying Linux”. It’s a fucking OS not a social club. Just install it. It matters that it’s Arch vs Debian for so many numerous reasons. Package management, system management, update philosophy etc etc. Ppl just need to read the docs and not worry about social media clout by posting pictures of their terminal lol

I don't understand. @OmarchyLinux is enabling all kinds of people to try out interesting linux tooling and ideas. Bringing more and more people into linux. Who cares if its arch, debian, whatever. It's fun, and its growing the broader linux community. Comments like this hurt. Not me, they hurt the community. This kind of gatekeeping scares people away from linux. Please don't do this. I love linux, I love the community. Let's grow it. Not gatekeep it. Please.

@uncreativetom @yaronhb No one but you it seems has tried to explain “ejecting the installer”. I’m curious wtf you mean? I always explain DMG as disk images. It’s like putting a virtual CD in. No one has found this confusing. Are you ok?

Umm I can still order parts for cars going back to the early 60s and beyond. Thinking old cars won’t exist in a few years is pretty dense. You also have kit cars and tons of other options. Additionally none of the designs look complicated to disable. It will likely be a small odb2 dongle u attach and just remove when going for an inspection. But I’d avoid playing the game and just stick to older vehicles until it gets repealed

I am conflicted. Both EU and US now require ADDW on new cars from 26/27 more-or-less. Trucks have had this for a while, and if it'd actually work and stay in the car, that's fine... but I have a feeling it won't. Plus, every tiktok-addicted shitling will find a way to bypass it one way or another. Saddest part is it's illegal to mod your car to remove those, and as years go by it'll be near impossible to get a car from before 2019 or so...
Europa.com@europa

🇪🇺 From July 2026, a new EU regulation will require all new cars to include driver-surveillance systems (ADDW), using interior cameras to track eye movement, head position and attention levels to detect “distraction or drowsiness.” The systems are designed for in-car safety alerts, with data processed in real time within the vehicle. Civilians cannot register new machine guns (fully automatic). The only full auto gun a civilian can have are ones that were made before 1968 (they are exempt due to a grandfather clause and are very expensive and still regulated). This is either military guys toy or a force reset trigger.

@ClownWorld Pardon my probably dumb European question, but if you are to register a machine gun, why not do it for a bigger caliber than .22? I heard they cost a lot.

This is where people get into trouble. The law is confusing but the simple version is that once you attach a device whose function is to provide a surface to shoulder the gun and the barrel is under 16” then you have created an SBR. All SBR must be registered with the proper tax stamp. Removing the stock later does not revert it back to a pistol, it would need to be formally deregistered with the government. So the “I’ll just remove it if they come knocking defense” does not work.

Very gay indeed. But we both know it's not logical at all. Even the restriction doesn't make any sense really. Neither did the Magazine in California when you can just a gun without it, and get a re-loader which speeds up the process. They are def trying to close the window on weapons one inch at the time.

Sounds like you’re not good at writing focused prompts and guiding the code style the ai generates. Iv never had this issue. Write focused prompts, review the code and enforce standards. And don’t think that AI replaces tools that already exist. If you want to ban BigInt that’s a job for a linter. If the AI “forgets” it’ll correct it when it lint etc. If you replace AI with “team of junior devs” then ur whole difficulty is nothing new and is what software project management has always been about. Humans, esp junior devs, have much smaller context windows than modern models. All in all this entire process keeps getting easier. If your fighting your AI or pulling your hair out repeating yourself, then your not enforcing the right standards with the right tools and need better management

seriously, working with AI is MISERABLE for one and only one reason: having to re-explain the same thing "oh yeah this new session obviously doesn't know what proper case trees are, so let me explain it for the 5000th time in my life" I'm tired AGENTS.md doesn't solve this because it is impossible to fit the entire domain knowledge without nuking the context - it would be 1m+ tokens worth RAGs don't solve this, the agent won't search unknown unknowns SKILLs don't solve this unless I keep like a collection of 1750 skills with specific cuts of domain knowledge for each possible subset of my domain that I might need in a given chat, but that's a lot of manual work recursive LLMs or whatever don't solve this for the same reason, you can't dump a domain book and expect the AGENT will magically guess that it is supposed to search for a specific bit knowledge. unknown unknowns fine tuning doesn't solve this (OSS models suck and OpenAI / Anthropic gave up on user fine tuning) I honestly think a good product around fine tuning on your domain would be a major hit and an underdog lab should take this opportunity
