@BlakeCallagha14 Agreed. But I can’t see HC changing that any time soon. Having a son who just finished U16AAA season it’s very difficult to navigate what’s the best fit for him next season. Could go in many directions

@chrisgray1973 U 18 is week because Hockey Canada allows every junior team to have two 16 year old cards. 12 CCHL 10 EOJHL. 44 U16 kids can play junior next year. U16 only has about 85 players take the top half away does not leave much for U18.

Should HEO lobby Hockey Canada to allow an increase of 16 year-olds to play in the CCHL? To do this the EOJHL would have get zero 16 year-old cards. We cannot destroy U18.

This is the elite food option at the CTC in the 100 level. One of the few repeat ones I'll go for. Birria grilled cheese.

@SensMoggerr The Sens have the worst intermissions in the league. Jr teams that do chuck a puck are more interesting

@ryanpmcarthur There’s not a single player on TB who will be drafted. Meanwhile VK and 3-1 Marlies don’t advance.

It’s hard to argue having the Thunder Bay Kings at the OHL Cup. Due to blowouts against them, three teams from their division made the quarterfinals. In three other divisions only one team advanced, and the fifth division had two teams move on. Need to have balanced competition.

Oshawa wins the rights to select exceptional status d man Kade O’Rourke with the #1 pick. Erie wins the rights to select Tanner Adams #2 who would’ve went #1 if for no exceptional status guy

@ParryHockey @ryanpmcarthur So far they have lost 13-1 and 10-1. I think it would have been more competitive for them if they joined that NOHA team

@ryanpmcarthur @chrisgray1973 Because Northwestern Ontario is part of Ontario and those boys deserve representation to showcase themselves. Plain and simple.

There are seven spots TBD for the OHL Cup. I’d assume the two automatic berths will be UCC and The Hill (but maybe could be Woodbridge, Missy Sens, or Don Mills). Thunder Bay will probably get the HNO spot as per usual unless they change something. Wild card has four entries.

Two players I coached at Algonquin College are now head scouts in the OHL. Another from my time at Carleton CIS is a development guy in the OHL The best thing about that is they still talk to me. I love this game . I get to see them all at OHL Cup next week. Life is good.

@ryanpmcarthur Yes I think that would be a much more competitive team. I think they do have one like that coming already?

@chrisgray1973 They should make an HNO selection team. Include the kids from Thunder Bay, Fort Frances, Kenora, Dryden, and everywhere in between. Maybe there’s some hidden gems from the northwest.

@ryanpmcarthur @TCass44 I can argue them out. 2 underagers they don’t need to look at for the 2026 draft. More kids probably getting drafted off OVT this year v Cyclones

@TCass44 I’ve got the Upper Canada Cyclones as a wild card. Hard to argue them out of the equation. I’d say they should be a lock.

The 8 wild card spots (for 4 entries) for the OHL Cup will be interesting. If The Hill/UCC (prep) don’t get auto berths, they would be included below. My picks for the entries: Missy Sens, Don Mills, Woodbridge, Cyclones, Barrie, Ajax, and Biosteel. COW or OVT for the final spot.

The end of HEO AAA regular season is less than a month away. We only have two playoff rounds so our players will be finished hockey early March. Does this bother anyone else. Early end to winter hockey is why spring hockey started. time to rethink our seasons.
