Alas, none of that spirit seems to remain in those tasked with such projects today. A depressing lack of ambition. I chose an arch so that the Elizabeth Memorial would be visually distinct from the Albert and Victoria memorials. No, it was not inspired by Trump's Arch! lol George IV was supposed to sit atop Marble Arch. London's magnificent Wellington Arch is topped by the largest bronze sculpture in Europe. It was built in 1912. Over 100 years later, surely we can build something equally grand - or even grander. [Note: Second line on the arch should read "Head of the Commonwealth"]
