@EMSL developer.apple.com/wwdc22/110373 I could be very wrong - but I don’t see any mention of MFI. Seems like they need a special entitlement to be distributed on the App Store, but can be distributed in dev without.

@EMSL I think that’s what changed in iOS16 - DriverKit runs in userspace and isn’t limited to MFI devices anymore. A good start might be publishing a lib for other apps to consume - I’d love to create my own drawing tool!

@chrislloyd In the past -- and it is not clear if this has changed -- it has been our reading that iPadOS apps cannot connect to arbitrary USB devices unless those devices are licensed under the MFI program. And, that's one huge reason that we've never looked further.

Went with this crew on a @RideOnewheel ride during lunch at #RemixConf and it was unbelievably fun. Definitely making this a tradition!

@MuseAppHQ loved the latest podcast on sync. I spent last night trying to implement it myself 😊 Have you thought about devices that might not be able to hold the full dataset (like a browser)? Would that just mean more scopes?

@sebmarkbage Would you mind sharing the learnings from Prepack? Partial eval always seemed like a neat approach.

I really love this drawing tool from @inkandswitch: inkandswitch.com/crosscut/. The idea of a drawing as a computation is a very rich one - @CuttleXYZ is a very practical embodiment of this, this is a much more researchy direction. The "meta ink" circuit-like metaphor is brilliant.

Hoo-boy, it’s been a while between Railscamps. See you there?
Lookahead@LookaheadSearch

@railscamp_au '22 is starts tomorrow and @stevelikesyou will be there, literally, with coffee. Lookahead is sponsoring the morning (and post-lunch/dinner?) ritual, hopefully fuelling plenty of exciting conversations and ideas. Really looking forward to it!

@dan_abramov Good advice for all professionals, not just front end library maintainers IMHO. Switching to “pulling” learning/opinions instead of having them pushed to me has been refreshing. Good luck on your journey.

@benschwarz @github @toolmantim @sco Really odd default sort - perhaps we all signed up for GitHub around the same time and it’s sorting on auto inc primary key? It’s weird that 3/4 know each other and AFAIKT only I have had any interaction with the repo.

@github the at-mentions autocomplete for discussions has poor precision and is causing lots of spam to unaffiliated people. Innocent posters aren’t getting the attn. from teams either (#discussioncomment-1892474" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">github.com/vercel/next.js…) cc @toolmantim @sco @benschwarz

@_adamwiggins_ I’d love to hear @jonathoda on the Muse podcast. Smalltalkers would have an interesting perspective on lots of topics y’all discuss.
