@SwaleOutdoors Interesting to hear of scarcity, we’ve found Sand Garlic plants along the Swale Near Asenby/Topcliffe.

A nice patch of Viola reichenbachiana on the edge of the River Swale. However, the slender leaves are even more interesting. These seem to be Allium scorodoprasum (Sand Garlic) which is very uncommon in Britain and something of a Wensleydale speciality, bt never recorded from Swaledale. Sandy riverbanks are its main natural habitat so it would make sense. I'll be back late in the season to check.

@FarplaceRescue That’s a FULL day for poor old Eddie. We took in a cat in a similar situation when a young cat - he lived to 24!

Eddie has had a dental today & 4 teeth were removed. He has also been castrated, microchipped, and had a full health check. Eddie was abandoned when his owners moved house. He spent a week sat on their doorstep waiting for them to return for him, but they never came back.

The moment the whipper-in from the Blackmore and Sparkford Vale Hunt tried to take a shovel from a council worker as the hunt rampage through roadworks. The other whip can be seen riding at a sab trying to prevent him filming. The second video was sent to us by one of the workers

I think we can conclude that even abraded copper tape does not deter slugs, at least not these big green chaps. So, on to the next trial - adding abraded aluminium tape to the copper.
