Discrimination is wrong.
Using religion as an excuse to discriminate is wrong - and unconstitutional.
The Court’s minority is right: the Constitution is no license for a business to discriminate.
Today’s ruling will move America backward.
I consider December 14th, 2012 the single darkest day of my presidency. The news from Sandy Hook Elementary was devastating, a visceral blow, and like so many others, I felt not just sorrow but anger at a world that could allow such things to happen.
Abbott banned abortion in cases of rape.
Last night, he told victims of rape that they’ll be fine because he’ll give them “baby supplies” after forcing them to give birth to their rapist’s child.
This election is about ending Abbott’s attacks on women. We are voting him out.
“This is an embarrassment – to the Senate, to the country, to the founders, and all that they profess to hold dear. If this is America first, then America is fucked.” -@JonStewart on Republican Senators who are blocking the PACT Act
Can’t believe we even have to say this, but: if you just went to the Senate floor and blocked benefits for veterans exposed to toxic burn pits while serving our country in a war zone, you are wrong.
Is this fight gonna be hard? YES. DEMOCRACY IS HARD. So get over it now. And don’t become complacent in a few weeks. You gotta sustain that power TO THE END.
What are YOU going to do? Make a plan. MAKE IT HAPPEN. I’ve got your back. Please have mine. #VoteThemOut
🤝🏽✊🏽👊🏽
Y’all, I’m mad and sad.
But I’m also FIRED THE HELL UP.
I don’t know about you, but I’m ready to VOTE these assholes the FUCK OUT. Don’t forget: This is an election year. Whoever’s had ANY PART to do with this destruction IS OUT.
I will explain this to you slowly: exercising our right to protest is not obstruction of Congress nor an attempt to overturn democracy.
If one were a heinous enough person to do that, they’d likely seek a pardon for it too.
But only one of us here has done that. And it ain’t me
Texas Democratic state Sen. Roland Gutierrez, who represents Uvalde, to CNN:
"If I do nothing for the rest of my career but yell at Greg Abbott and others that are not willing to listen, then that's what I'm going to do. We must have change."
Incredible that the party of “freedom”’s vision of our country is armed guards in every classroom. Freedom isn’t living in a war zone. It’s about being safe and secure in your homes and communities to build a better life.
Abbott should have acted after Sutherland Springs, after Santa Fe, after Midland-Odessa, after El Paso.
He refused. Let's vote him out and get to work saving lives.
If men could get pregnant, this wouldn’t even be a conversation.
This decision isn’t about strengthening families - it’s about extremism. It’s about control.
We will fight for the right to choose.
