So I’ve had some insider info from @British_Airways and it turns out my bag, that I’d expressly asked not to be sent to Cairo and just couriered to my home address, has instead spent the last 2 days flying between LHR and CAI - you just couldn’t make this up!

@christails @British_Airways The app updated and I was able to click on the courier info and it had the tracking info in there - the guy I spoke to at BA was SO rude - he told me he had no solution for me and I said he was unhelpful and he went off on one at me - kept doing little sniggers under his breath

According to @British_Airways live chat my bag has now been sent to Cairo again my wishes. They have said it will be on a flight to Sharm tonight. BA said to contact Cairo airport to arrange deliver. All of the nos they provided are out of service…

Have decided against wasting my evening and money to go to Sharm airport to try to intercept my bag 1) @British_Airways team may be wrong, it may not actually have left LHR 2) it might not get put on the flight @British_Airways claim - took 5 days to get to Cairo after all!

@christails @British_Airways They’re a disgrace. They scheduled mine to arrive at my hotel in San Fran at a time I told them I’d be gone, luckily it arrived before but still not one word about my mums 82 year old case

Do I go to Sharm airport tonight to try and intercept my bag @British_Airways claim will arrive there at 9pm local or just keep waiting at my hotel? I have no faith it is actually even going to be on the flight to Sharm they claim

Thought I was in luck got a reply from @British_Airways official account to DM my details to help with lost bag. Turns out it’s just an AI agent and after I’d give all my details the chat went dead. Another great example of their IT systems!

@jamiebsmith @British_Airways Looks like I’ll soon be in the same position as you. My bag was sent to Cairo again my wishes last night. It’s now due on a flight to Sharm today. All the numbers BA provided for Cairo airport are dead and the live chat said they can’t help any further

Hi @British_Airways, slightly concerned now as my bag has now been in Cairo since last Friday (15/5) but is still not tracking as received. As far as I’m aware there is no baggage backlog at CAI, the main problem being at LHR so why has there been no activity in the last 5 days? Do you have a contact number I can call to further check on the situation of my baggage as I don’t particularly want my bay sitting around in Cairo airport for an extended period of time.

5 days since I dropped my bag at T5 and @British_Airways didn’t put it on the flight. What does this even mean?! Does that mean it’s now with a courier rather than in BA possession? Only 1 email since Friday. Shocking

@Daisy_abena @British_Airways I’m really going to push for a refund. I’ve had been away for 5 days without my bag. One email and the app doesn’t recognise my baggage claim so no idea if it’s in the same country or still at LHR. Thinking of flying home early - more cost to me

I hope @British_Airways will be offering partial or full refunds to passengers whose holidays have been ruined by missing baggage. Reimbursing essential items alone doesn’t make up for lost time, stress, and trips people have spent thousands on.

Thinking of cutting my holiday short since @British_Airways have lost my case and I’ve already had to spend £400 of my own money on basic clothing and provisions. As usual the BA app is garbage and no option to change. If I book a new flight can I charge it back to them?
