#OnThisDay Pierre Womé held his nerve in the penalty shootout. With 104,000 spectators watching, Cameroon's Indomitable edged past Spain’s La Roja to win their first-ever Olympic football gold 🥇⚽ @Olympics @camnosc #Olympics

☄ The 𝗠𝗲𝗹𝗯𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗻𝗲 𝗣𝘂𝗹𝘀𝗲 are sure to keep your heart rate up at #BPL22 as they look to add a fourth title to their trophy cabinet. The pulsating action won’t stop with the dynamic quartet of Barrie Lester, Ellen Fife, Gary Kelly, and coach Jeremy Henry on the green.

@LNPvoterfail Because >70 out of every 1000 Aust. aged 75+ have diagnosed dementia. Many more are undiagnosed at that age (let alone have other health conditions). The number of 45 year olds that have dementia (which seems your common snide reply) is 0.5 per 1000. No wonder you muted replies.

Why would drivers of 75 years of age, young by todays standards, have to have driving reviews because a 91 year old had an accident? I'm nowhere near 75, but this affects everyone eventually.

@SomeWelder …and you’ll pay a lot more when rural hospitals start to close from Dec ‘26 and EDs are clogged with poor patients. GOP voters are getting what they voted for - higher health insurance, high inflation, high interest rates, a tanking US$ and tourism sector & global disrespect.

I pay $30,780.00 a year for health insurance, with a max out of pocket of $18,500.00 (not including copays at the counter), for the missus and I, so you'll have to excuse me if I seem unmoved that you're losing your free healthcare, that somehow I also pay for.

Sunil Gavasker said the big deflection off Jaiswal’s gloves could have been an optical illusion. Maybe the inside edge you claim you got in 1981 was also an illusion. Gavasker is the most biased commentator I’ve ever heard.

@bridgeyb Hmmm… well maybe @abcnews Breakfast shouldn’t have given her a platform this morning to sprout continued rubbish and could have been covering those other more important stories instead. No words.

If you're a journalist covering the scrutiny on Lidia Thorpe in the Senate but not the dozens of dead Aboriginal women missing and murdered (12 this year alone), or the landmark NT Coroner's report calling this issue our "national shame", then I just have no words for you.

Analysing latest TAS election results, difficult to see how Libs form government. Likely seats are: LIB 15 Ind. 2 ALP 10 Gre 4 or 5 JLN 4 or 3 18 seats to form government - Libs need both IND and either all Greens or JLN - seems unlikely! #auspol #insiders @abcnews

@TheKouk Really. Could you say something sillier? Overseas giants have tried and barely been able gain any market share due to the near duopoly. That’s the last post I read of yours.

@CaseyBriggs @abcnews Seems impossible to record a case now in VIC via a positive RAT. Visit govt website and it tells you ‘no need to report cases’ while on another page it asks you to report via a web link or phone number - both have been dismantled! Cases deliberately understated. #COVID19 #auspol

Governments have been steadily dismantling the COVID surveillance system, but is that a backward step? That’s a question a lot of public health researchers and modelers are asking, as other countries invest more in forecasting. My latest for @abcnews abc.net.au/news/2024-02-0…
