@venanalysis Read CAREFULLY the TSJ ruling and you will find answers. The ruling clearly states that the appointment of Rodriguez was exceptional, considering the extraordinary circumstances behind Maduro’s “absence.” It also stated that after 90 days they will rule on how to proceed.

The issue is the timeline. Rodríguez's swearing-in followed a ruling from the Venezuelan Supreme Court instructing her to assume the presidency. The ruling referenced Article 234 of the Venezuelan Constitution. This article stipulates that, if there is a "temporary absence" of the president, the vice president takes over the role for a 90-day period. After that, the National Assembly can renew it for another 90 days, and after that take a vote to decide whether the president's absence remains temporary or has become permanent (in which case authorities would have to convene elections)

Some questions emerging on social media regarding Delcy Rodríguez and the acting presidency ("presidencia encargada"). Recall that she was sworn in as acting president before the National Assembly on Jan 5, two days after the US bombing and kidnapping of President Nicolás Maduro

Nearly 3 months since the US bombed Caracas & kidnapped a sitting president. 100+ killed. Nicolás Maduro & Cilia Flores seized in an illegal imperialist operation. Now they’re blocking his right to a defense — sanctions preventing his legal team from being paid. The world is watching New York. The second hearing is TODAY, March 26. From London to Chicago to Portland — the streets are rising. FREE PRESIDENT MADURO. NOW. ✊🏽🇻🇪 #BringThemBack #HandsOffVenezuela #NoMásImperialismo

Sometimes Gustavo Petro’s rants are just too much to handle. 🙄 While Venezuela faces the weight of US intervention, he chooses to pivot back to his recurring lectures on "democracy" instead of standing in firm solidarity. We can only hope that Iván Cepeda offers a more sovereign, clear, and principled path forward for the region. 🇨🇴🇻🇪 #Colombia #Venezuela #Sovereignty #ForeignInterference #IvanCepeda #PactoHistorico
