@FLVoiceNews In retrospect maybe it was not such a great idea to declare Biden the winner so early. Biden wld have won an open primary and made local elections more competitive.

If you are not white and live in or visit Texas, you will need to carry ID documentation with you. It will be worse if we don't reelect Biden.

@LarryGreer20 @KathleenASmit12 Local law enforcement can arrest and even deport people THEY THINK are here illegally. That is as close to a "papers please" law as it gets.

@RBrattenWeiss Half the Church is women yet they are relegated to office work. Yet girls grow up to be moms and will have to impart the faith to the kids. They should know explicitly what goes on at the altar. The Church benefits from women and not just in the parish office. My opinion.

Girls are supposed to be permitted to serve at mass, but a lot of parishes just quietly decide to bar them from doing so, and a lot of families opt to be involved in those parishes, I guess because they want their boys to grow up to be sexist and socially dysfunctional.
Skeptically Dan@SkepticallyDan

I learned @FrJimRolph barred altar girls from his parish due to the "the crisis of masculinity." This is the same priest who lied to his parish about his suspension, is scared to talk to me, and won't apologize to those he's spiritually abused. Crisis of masculinity, indeed.

Supreme Court said Texas can immediately begin enforcing immigration law allowing state officials to arrest & detain people they suspect of entering the country illegally. So when do police start questioning white fans outside of hockey games to find undocumented Canadians?

George Lucas, Disney’s largest individual shareholder, throws his support behind $DIS CEO Bob Iger. Here is his statement: “Creating magic is not for amateurs. When I sold Lucasfilm just over a decade ago, I was delighted ot become a Disney shareholder because of my long-time admiration for its iconic brand and Bob Iger's leadership. When Bob recently returned to the company during a difficult time, I was relieved. No one knows Disney better. I remain a significant shareholder because I have full faith and confidence ni the power of Disney and Bob's track record of driving long-term value. I have voted all of my shares for Disney's 12 directors and urge other shareholders to do the same.”

Post-trad Catholicism means not having to pretend to hate stuff you actually like and pretending to like stuff you don't. Like did you know that you can hear and see what's going on at Mass better if the priest is facing you? And it's okay to prefer it that way?

@Burgess7281975 To go further 1 Samuel 21:6, David received the Bread of the Presence of the Lord from the priest before going into battle. It was also the sign of the Covenant between God and his people. It was food for David's journey as the Eucharist is for our journey today. Spiritual food!

@Burgess7281975 Jesus in the Eucharist is the Ark of the New Covenant. As w/ all God's covenants this must have a a living sign. The Eucharist is this living sign of the New Covenant between God and man. Jesus in the Eucharist is this living sign showing that Jesus is alive in His Church

Schismatic would-be apologists often make the faulty assumption that if one of the Church Fathers indicates that the Eucharist has symbolic elements that it cannot also be Supersubstantial. This is an example of the “either/or” fallacy and is related to the same error would-be “literalists” make when failing to recognize that Scripture is literal, moral, allegorical, and eschatological and sometimes concurrently so. Clement of Alexandria CLEARLY believed in the transubstantiation of the Eucharistic Host regardless of whatever elements he might ascribe to it. From, “The Instructor of Children” “Eat my flesh, he says, and drink my blood (John 6:53-5). Such is the suitable food which the Lord ministers, and he offers his flesh and pours forth his blood, and nothing is wanting for the children’s growth. O, amazing mystery! We are enjoined to cast off the old and carnal corruption, as also the old nutriment, receiving in exchange another new regimen, that of Christ, receiving him if we can, to hide him within; and that, enshrining the Savior in our souls, we may correct the affections of our flesh.” (The Instructor of Children 1:6:43:3 [A.D. 191]). Which is of course entirely consistent with Scripture: (1) Christ teaches it in John 6: “The Jews therefore strove among themselves, saying: How can this man give us his flesh to eat?  54 Then Jesus said to them: Amen, amen I say unto you: Except you eat the flesh of the Son of man, and drink his blood, you shall not have life in you.  55 He that eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, hath everlasting life: and I will raise him up in the last day.  56 For my flesh is meat indeed: and my blood is drink indeed.  57 He that eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, abideth in me, and I in him.  58 As the living Father hath sent me, and I live by the Father; so he that eateth me, the same also shall live by me.  59 This is the bread that came down from heaven. Not as your fathers did eat manna, and are dead. He that eateth this bread, shall live for ever.” (2) Christ teaches it in Mark 14 “And whilst they were eating, Jesus took bread; and blessing, broke, and gave to them, and said: Take ye. This is my body.  23 And having taken the chalice, giving thanks, he gave it to them. And they all drank of it.  24 And he said to them: This is my blood of the new testament, which shall be shed for many.” (3) Christ teaches it in Luke 22: “19 And taking bread, he gave thanks, and brake; and gave to them, saying: This is my body, which is given for you. Do this for a commemoration of me.  20 In like manner the chalice also, after he had supped, saying: This is the chalice, the new testament in my blood, which shall be shed for you.” (4) Christ teaches it in Matthew 26: “26 And whilst they were at supper, Jesus took bread, and blessed, and broke: and gave to his disciples, and said: Take ye, and eat. This is my body.  27 And taking the chalice, he gave thanks, and gave to them, saying: Drink ye all of this.  28 For this is my blood of the new testament, which shall be shed for many unto remission of sins.” (5) Saint Paul taught it in 1 Corinthians 10: “16 The chalice of benediction, which we bless, is it not the communion of the blood of Christ? And the bread, which we break, is it not the partaking of the body of the Lord?  17 For we, being many, are one bread, one body, all that partake of one bread.” (6) Saint Paul taught it in 1 Corinthians 11:  “26 For as often as you shall eat this bread, and drink the chalice, you shall shew the death of the Lord, until he come.  27 Therefore whosoever shall eat this bread, or drink the chalice of the Lord unworthily, shall be guilty of the body and of the blood of the Lord.  28 But let a man prove himself: and so let him eat of that bread, and drink of the chalice.  29 For he that eateth and drinketh unworthily, eateth and drinketh judgment to himself, not discerning the body of the Lord.” #CatholicTwitter #CatholicX #RealPresence

The Roman Catholic claim to be Deep in History is just a substitute for being truly deep in history. A Protestant, citing Clement (191 AD), correctly observes that he took a symbolic reading of John 6. "The Scripture, accordingly, has named wine the symbol of the sacred blood."🧵

Per Rachel Maddow, Putin has ceased peace talks with Ukraine because they are running low on ammunition. Trump has named Putin ally Manafort to serve on his WH staff. Poland, Moldova and Gerogia are all worried. We should be too.

@Burgess7281975 Jesus plainly stated His words are “spirit”. So reject the word of Christ to your peril. Read John 6:63. Or better yet, have a child read it.

@RobertC41316873 @Burgess7281975 If that is true then why when Jesus talks about the Bread of Life and that the Bread is his flesh, do people start to walk away. Why does Jesus ask the Apostles in John 6 if they will walk as well? He could have said it was symbolic But. He. Did. Not

@Burgess7281975 Here is your error. The church did not teach this heresy until the 12th Century. I give you the truth: It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh is no help at all. The words that I have spoken to you are spirit and life. (John 6:63, ESV)

Your denial of Christ being fully present in the Eucharist is a monstrous error Robert. The Church, starting with Christ, has taught the Substance of Eucharistic Transubstantiation for approximately 1,991 Years. Please review the following Scriptural Citations: (1) Christ teaches it in John 6: “The Jews therefore strove among themselves, saying: How can this man give us his flesh to eat? 29 For he that eateth and drinketh unworthily, eateth and drinketh judgment to himself, not discerning the body of the Lord.” Also see: ⁃Acts 2:42 ⁃Acts 20:7 ⁃Luke 24:13-35 #CatholicTwitter #CatholicX #RealPresence
