My thoughts mostly boil down to:
- professionals were basically born to do what they do. their total energy and time is devoted to perfect what they do with (usually) near perfect genetics and basis to build off.
- most “really good” amateurs could fake it for a minute but will always be easily exposed when they are put up against the absolute best

@businessbarista Think the gap between amateur -> pro in any sport is much larger than we think. In sports like running, swimming, golf, etc. where amateurs can directly measure their performance against the pros, the gap is *perceived* to be much larger.
