So I got married during another Duranie phase. I was about 16 months clean and sober then. I’m sure Dana’s dad was thrilled when I walked through the door. All of these years later, I feel confident that he’s glad it was me. Today marks 33 years of marriage. It hasn’t always been easy, but it’s always been worth it. She’s still my girl. She’s the reason that I drive through the night to get home. She’s the reason another cup of truck stop coffee feels like the better choice rather than another hotel room. I’m who I am today, because of her. I did the work, but I wouldn’t be here if she hadn’t believed in me.
