The success of the AWS-3 auction shows what happens when market forces guide spectrum policy.  It delivered big wins - promoting U.S. leadership in wireless by putting fallow spectrum to higher use, strengthening our national security by funding secure communications networks, and delivering capacity for 4G and 5G networks, which will result in better services for consumers across the country.  Thanks to Congress and President Trump for renewing the FCC's auction authority, the @FCC will continue to fuel the spectrum pipeline.  I congratulate FCC staff for the strong auction results and look forward to building on this success in the future.

Sound engineering is the backbone of our agency’s regulatory mission. The FCC Lab is one of the many tremendous technical resources helping the FCC to keep consumers safe, protect our national security, and secure our telecommunications networks from foreign and domestic security threats.
