The first thing a college coach evaluates isn't your stats. It isn't your exit velocity. It isn't your batting average. It's how you look. Your body type. How you move. How athletic you appear. Before you ever step into the batter's box, coaches are already building an initial impression. You only get one first impression.

10 Ways to Stand Out as a HS Recruit at a Showcase/ Tournament Everyone wants to stand out with their tools. But coaches are evaluating much more than your physical ability. Here are 10 ways to stand out that having nothing to do with your measurables 🧵

6. Bring the Juice! Coaches want players who compete with relentless energy and passion. We want players who LOVE being on the field. If you carry yourself like you'd rather be home playing Fortnite... Your body language will show it. If you love the game. ACT LIKE IT.

8. Be prepared. If a coach asks for transcripts, video, or upcoming schedule... Have it ready. Recruiting is built on momentum. Nothing kills momentum faster than waiting weeks for recruiting materials necessary to take next steps.

10. Compete At the college level, the talent gap gets smaller. Competitiveness becomes a major separator. College coaches need players that compete relentlessly. Elite competitors are becoming harder and harder to find. Separate yourself by being an elite competitor.

9. Don't play scared Players afraid to fail stand out, but not in a good way. Failure is part of the game. We expect to see it. Coaches want to see how you handle it and how you respond to it. Embrace failure. Compete through it. Don't run from it.

5. Look the Part First impressions are everything. Whether you realize it or not, coaches are watching you from the moment you arrive until the moment you leave. Showing up sloppy says a lot about your preparation and your respect for the team/program you are representing.
