@RitterChris I umpired with a guy who won five straight days back when that was the limit. He got every question right, nobody even rang in ahead of him. It was ridiculous. He was a savant. He knew the baseball rulebook backwards and forwards. The kicker. He was a truly atrocious umpire!

@JacobTamme @JeffPassan After an official warning the rules say they coach "Shall be" Ejected. It's actually not up to the umpire, he is technically required to eject at that point. And it was arguing for 3 pitches on 2 different batters if you actually watched the game before he issued the warning.

1) too quick of a toss in this moment BUT 2) coming well of the dugout, the “demeanor” of the yelling about the 3 pitches, after ump was trying to warn him that he didn’t want to hear anything else from 1B coach… that’s the combo got him 3) still, ump should have diffused rather than choosing violence

There are very few combinations of words in the English language that warrant ejecting a coach from an elimination game in the Men's College World Series finals. And yet Coastal Carolina's Kevin Schnall -- and first-base coach Matt Schilling -- just got run in the first inning.

@JeffPassan Said - "You missed 3 pitches" He pulled the pin and it blew up on him. I don't know a single umpire that would not have ejected him in that situation, and the rule actually requires (Shall) he be ejected. He then bumped an umpire which gave him additional days off.

@JeffPassan Jeff, Love your book, The Arm. But this is an instance where the coach pulled the pin on his own grenade. If you watched the game, the was shouting at the umpire from the dugout on three separate pitches. On the second, the umpire gave him an informal warning "Stop" on the

@JeffPassan Third he issued a ball strike warning. Once a ball strike warning has been issued, the coach knows that if he says one more thing about balls and strikes he is automatically ejected bye rule (The rule says he shall be ejected, not may) After he understood what the warning was he

RHP Henry Bertoncin (@PrepBaseballMO) comes away as a name-to-know ‘26 in the state after this look. Arm works, clean out the hand. FB T89, pitched at 85-88 mph as he went on. Big depth on a 69-72 mph CB, 2500+ RPM. #KCSummerChamps | @BCbaseballtoday

Huge fan of OF/LHP Sammy Driscoll (@PrepBaseballIL, 2025). Comes out of the gates at 87-90 mph with the fastball, settled in at 84-86 as he went on. Sharp spin on BB, feel for it, 73-75 mph. Also a true CF and top of the lineup LH bat. #KCSummerChamps

@PatrickMahomes This was 3rd and 6 in OT. It wasn't called a hold. The drive before the 49ers were called for a hold on 2nd and 2 at your 14 yard line. It erased a first down. The NFL decided who was going to win this game before it happened.

This is what Nate Burleson was saying about the 49ers center being illegally downfield on the McCaffrey touchdown. Good no call? Or mistake from the refs?

the scariest part about this Super Bowl? this was supposed to be the year to knock off the Chiefs Mahomes was most expensive cap hit in NFL at $37M his OL was weakened his WR1 was a rookie they were forced to play SIX STRAIGHT GAMES at a REST DISADVANTAGE weeks 12-17, the ONLY time a team had to do that in NFL history they had to play in Germany they didn't get a 1st round bye they had to play on the road in the Divisional Round as an underdog they had to play on the road in the Conference Championship round as an underdog they were underdogs in the Super Bowl and were losing by double digits it was the TOUGHEST PATH to a Super Bowl based on strength of opponent faced EVER and they STILL won the Super Bowl
