@chufucious PLEASE.
I like the framework of putting speed cameras out of a job because we have infrastructure that slows down speeders, but the pilots in SF for speed cameras show us how effective they are in slowing cars down and quick! A warning alone reduced speeding by 70% (estimated).

If every neighborhood across Los Angeles added speed cameras on high traffic roads and put in chicanes, round-abouts, and speed tables on lower volume streets—we could transform the county overnight.

@chufucious Sure! But I’m not interested in the countless public feedback meetings that would ultimately kill roads diets. Speed cameras could be faster interventions to slow down streets now while we work to build safer infrastructure later (like road diets!)
