The worst kept secret in the CGT debate: there are plenty of Liberals who have been advocating for years to change housing tax concessions. They know the system is cooked, and that a government has to step up and change them. The Shadow Treasurer even wrote a book about it!

Craig has many good takes and is generally a force for good on the right, but he is slightly off the mark here. This man is Indian. He isn’t Fijian or Australian and no amount of civic nationalism can change that. He is a good bloke, with a good head on his shoulders and thinks in the correct manner, however our nation is not a faceless economic zone, our culture isn’t a checklist of arbitrary values and our national identity is not a skin-suit that all can simply adopt and wear. We must harden our hearts. Australia is a British Anglo nation, populated and settled by English, Irish, Scottish and Welsh settlers. Our nation was 99% Anglo Celtic until 1945 and then the slow erosion of our wider culture began. This cannot be lost sight of. Everything that is great about our nation, is because of Anglo and Western civilisation. European migration was largely successful, many came in small numbers and assimilated well under Australian culture (mainly due to their cultural proximity, Christian and westernised backgrounds) but even there we had some issues in the beginning, with the skips vs wogs phenomenon and you see many Mediterranean migrants who are communist, anti anglo and anti western. What we have in the modern day is even worse, with a vast scale of millions of third world incompatible migrants from the Hindu, Sikh and Muslim worlds, flooding in with no aim of assimilation, no aim of westernising, no aim of intermarrying, no aim of becoming Australian or even aiming to leave their own ethnic enclaves. Don’t fall for these ABC and SBS interviews with the one good Indian migrant, who has assimilated. The exception to the rule doesn’t change what we see all around us and the reality on the ground. Millions must leave and we must deport to the point of removing all with incompatibility and to the point at which we are once again 90% European, if we are to have demographic security. We are not entering a birth rate arms race with the third world within our own country. We are not becoming a minority in our own homeland.

That noise you hear outside is millions of Australians cheering. "We came to this best country that we call home now. I call myself Australian, I don‘t call myself Fijian or Indian" "I put an Australian flag pole in my front yard. You come to this country, embrace the Australian way of living or you know what - stay where you are" 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 One Nation should sign this bloke up and make him their immigration spokesman and hopefully Immigration Minister. His views and values are diametrically the opposite of Labor and Tony Burke.

@Ryandally08 And the 550,000 in 22-23 took place under which policy settings? Election was in May 2022. Labor was too slow to reverse policies such as unrestricted work rights for students, covid visa, new WHM agreements, fee free applications, etc, which led to a boom in applications.

I have never met a single leftist who understands, or even believes in, incentive systems. They are quite literally incapable of understanding that level of abstraction. They think people just do stuff and that if you don't do good stuff for the world (they define what is good) you are a bad person. They have the worldview of a child.

A country is more than an economy. Its people are more than inputs on a spreadsheet. Nations are built over generations through a shared history, inherited culture, social trust, and common identity. Those things cannot simply be replaced, imported, or reconstructed once they are broken apart. Australia’s housing crisis, collapsing infrastructure, declining living standards, and growing social fragmentation did not emerge in isolation. They are the consequence of political and corporate elites treating population growth as an endless economic lever while dismissing the cultural and national consequences entirely. Every nation has the right to preserve its character and continuity. Australians are not wrong for wanting their children to inherit a country that still feels recognisably Australian in its culture, identity, and way of life. If a nation loses the confidence to preserve itself, it eventually becomes little more than a flea market with a flag attached to it.

''HOW WILL THE AUSTRALIAN BUDGET IMPACT CHINESE INVESTORS? CHINESE INVESTORS ARE FRETTING!'' Who the fuck cares? We are not an airport waiting lounge for them. Australian Financial Review: ''Australia’s budget has sparked a Chinese-language backlash over shares, crypto and wealth taxes. As the federal budget reignited Australia’s never-ending housing wars, many Chinese-speaking social media users appeared less worried about negative gearing on property than what tougher capital gains tax rules would mean for their share portfolios and long-term wealth. Across platforms such as Xiaohongshu, known as Little Red Book, and Weibo, users have spent the past week swapping detailed explainers and amateur tax analysis dissecting the Albanese government’s proposed changes to capital gains concessions. Chinese and Indian migrant communities are politically important across a swath of Labor-held seats in Melbourne and Sydney, including Menzies and Chisholm in Melbourne’s east and Bennelong, Reid and Parramatta in Sydney. Those communities were widely seen as critical to Labor’s successive federal election victories as support among Chinese voters in particular shifted from the Coalition. More than 40,000 Australian residential properties are currently registered as foreign-owned, according to the Australian Taxation Office. About 67 per cent of those foreign-owned properties are linked to buyers from mainland China.'' Tony Barry, a director at polling firm Redbridge and former Liberal adviser, said migrant communities were feeling many of the same pressures as other cohorts, including cost-of-living strains and the difficulty of saving and its relationship to housing. Barry said some respondents from across the political spectrum at post-budget focus groups conducted by Redbridge last week were particularly animated about the imposition of capital gains changes on shares and start-ups.''

It occurs to me that a significant amount of the immigration debate is just the elites and chattering classes getting upset at others finding out how we’ve been running immigration for decades. I bet most people didn’t even know non citizens could get welfare.
Sandy Lanceley@sandylanceley

They could always give up their Chinese citizenship and become Australian citizens? (Also the proposal isn’t retroactive, it only applies to new migrants) If you want live in Australia is it really that arduous to ask you to fully commit to Australia?

Ahmed Ouf only moved to Australia in 2010. Within months of moving to Australia he travelled to Gaza to meet with Hamas military officials despite the fact that Australia designates Hamas as a terror organisation. Now he tells Australians with up to 10 generations history in the country going back to the first wave of British settlement that they are the exact same as him - just migrants squatting out in Australia as an airport lounge. You have no country, no nation, no history. Your ancestors didn’t build a new country in Australia. He reckons he’s got just as much right to claim Australia as you.

Anyone that says mass migration isn’t the cause of the housing rental crisis and house price explosion, is simply lying to you. Some facts: - The population has increased by 8,600,000 people since the year 2000 - The nation is now 32% foreign born - The Indian diaspora now outnumbers the English diaspora - House prices have grown across our capital cities between 320% to 504%

In excess of 2 million people have migrated to Australia since 2022, outpacing housing supply and locking everyday Aussies out of the rental market. And it's only going to get worse under this Labor government. Labor will bring in another 990,000 people by 2029. Opposing unsustainable levels of mass migration is not "racist" — it’s common sense. We are damaging our environment and sacrificing our future. A One Nation government will always put Australians first.
