This happened under the watch of a premium JW Marriott safari experience where guides apparently have no problem letting clients treat the African savannah like their personal bathroom. Imagine the outrage if an Indian tourist had done this. Africa’s wildlife isn’t your personal litter box or urinal. Respect the wild or at least stop lecturing the rest of the world while you break the rules.

@DealsDhamaka I have an o geneal window ac 1.5 ton bought in summers 2020. Not 1 problem till date. Using in delhi ncr. Not 1 mechanic visit for anything except regular service. Moreover i go for 3 services in 2 years rather than 2 in a year

O'General imported from the Middle East. 16 years and not a single problem to date... It's installed in my hometown in AP where temperatures are really high 🥵
In the last 8 years, after I started earning - I purchased 3 ACs for our home in Pune. 2 have severe problems ... VOLTAS gone in 2nd year, no service, pathetic experience, lost 14K for gas, PCB charges and Finally left it to trash. Then Daikin in 2024 - which working fine to date, Last year bought our 2nd Daikin AC - which is giving problems already, last week PCB gone and replaced, today again gone.
Is it low quality of products over time ? Is it better quality when imported ? Is it location ? Is it manufactrer ?
I am not sure, and once AC stops working service is damn expensive.
P.S. we have bluestar (8-9 years old at hometown which is working fine and Lloyd 1 year old which is fine)

A friend of mine took a ₹45L home loan in 2018. Last month, he paid it off completely, 8 years ahead of schedule. Every spare rupee he could save went into prepayment instead of investments.
He told us over dinner, and the reaction was not what he expected. Some of us genuinely argued that he had made a financial mistake, that the money would have compounded better in mutual funds, and that he'd essentially wasted the opportunity.
Maybe we were right mathematically. But he sleeps better than ever now.
Was this the wrong call? Would love to hear from people who've been on both sides of this decision.

@khuchrep I tried today from Gzb to lko at 10 AM. Exactly same thing happened to me. It's just that i had marked the checkbox book only if confirm ticket is alloted. So system gave popup that no ticket. And I did not do the payment. Total fialure. It was not like this earlier.

This is unacceptable.
Tried booking a Tatkal ticket (New Delhi → Kanpur, Prayagraj Express, Sleeper):

>Started booking exactly at 11:00 AM
>Continuous buffering at every step
>Payment processed after long delay
End result: Ticket NOT booked, but money deducted.
@IRCTC your system fails users every single day during Tatkal hours.
Fix your servers or stop this misleading “first come first serve” claim.

The "lot of us" gang is banking on the closure of the Strait of Hormuz (March 2026) to break India. India has already pivoted.
The 9.5 day figure refers strictly to the Strategic Petroleum Reserves (SPR): emergency underground salt caverns managed by ISPRL.
Comparing India’s energy security to just the SPR is like looking at a billionaire’s wallet & saying they only have ₹2000, while ignoring their ₹50000 crore in the bank.
As of late March 2026, India’s total operational stock (held by oil marketing companies like IOC, BPCL, & HPCL in their own tanks & pipelines) provides an additional 64.5 days of cover. India’s actual combined oil cover is ~74 days. The 9.5 days claim intentionally ignores 87% of the country’s actual physical oil inventory to create a panic narrative.
Also, even during this "crisis" in March 2026, India remains a net exporter of refined petroleum products.

In her 2025 book India: 5000 Years of History, Truschke argued that Aurangzeb’s territorial expansion was a "success" despite fiscal depletion.
Now, as an overnight economist, she argues that the current govt's infrastructure expansion is a failure cos of monetized costs.
She is using a double standard of Success. For the Mughals, she defines success as Acreage (land). For the modern Republic, she defines success as Sentiment (freedom). This shift allows her to remain right in her own narrative, regardless of the actual GDP growth (which stayed robust at 7.8% in Q3 FY26).
If a ruler she likes bankrupts the country, it's statecraft. If a ruler she dislikes grows the economy by 8%, it is unmonetizable social loss.

Investigators found that Al-Falah University’s UGC recognition lapsed in 2018, yet for eight years it falsely claimed UGC recognition, admitted students, collected funds, and awarded degrees.
My question is: what was the UGC doing for eight years? Once Al-Falah’s recognition lapsed, the UGC would have known automatically, as it is the authority that grants, monitors, and withdraws recognition.
It could have issued public warnings, blacklisted the institution prominently on its website, conducted inspections, alerted state authorities, and initiated criminal proceedings if admissions and degree awards continue illegally. None of this required hindsight or extraordinary intelligence.
Is the UGC a serious organisation, or another boomer kitty-party club meant to roam around in sarkari-funded luxury cars, have chai-cookies during office hours, and draft rules to harass GCs?

If a candidate from a reserved category (SC/ST/OBC) in the three-tier examination of the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) passes the Prelims with the relaxed cut-off of the reserved category,
then no matter how high his/her marks are in the Mains (written) and Interview, he/she will not be considered in the Open (Unreserved) category.
