@davidmcw@IrishTimes@IrishTimesOpEd The Irish Government has still refused to fund 7 year old Roxanne Nolans lifesaving scoliosis surgery.
No lessons learned from the Irish Government yet since poor young Harvey Sheratt died.
Countless other children in severe pain still on waiting lists.

Newest member of #gogogreys. Cue all the bloodstock agents living in their mom’s basement screaming for more meatloaf right now saying I overpaid. Yeah no shit I overpaid. Every horse at these sales are overpriced and make no sense. I’m not in it to make money. I love the horses, love watching them grow up and all of it. You can’t take the money with you when you die. If I listened to Brad and Liz on when to stop bidding I’d have zero horses. This is my hobby. Grey horses and dishing tea on the beach.
April 16th 2024. @SimonHarrisTD said that he would make sure no child finds themselves waiting in pain and agony.
Why on 17th April 2026 is my daughter waiting in pain and agony.

Breaking - The track vet at Aqueduct scratched Miss Apples today. Tough to hear when the trainer says she 100% disagrees with the decision and we’ve been waiting a year for this day. The horse is doing great and she thought she was gonna win and has showed no issues in training and our own vets think she’s perfect. Reason given was lame left hind. Can’t race again till May at the earliest. Vets doing their jobs I guess. I wouldn’t want to race a horse with any issues but when nobody agrees with that 1 vet it’s tough. Maybe I’ll pass on buying more horses at @OBSSales today. I’m sad.

Michael Gaffney is floating around Park Paddocks after selling his Starspangledbanner filly for 900,000gns to @StroudColeman at the #TattsCraven Breeze Up Sale.
Despite billions in a rainy day fund…..
There’s no excuses that justify the shocking inaction by this government.
Judge them on their record

Nearly 1million on health waiting lists ,
Just imagine if those waiting & their families began a protest & started blocking streets.. Would we finally get change then ?
@LeoVaradkar You had *checks notes* thirteen years in government to make these graphs look different. Thankfully only one of us teaches economics. You wouldn’t even get into my class 💁🏼♀️
The protests in Ireland are not about just fuel! They are about the distance between Ireland on this graph and every other modern and developed economy. Ireland is second wealthiest but gets waaaaay less than any other country for that wealth. By a golden mile.
That visual gap in this graph? That’s what people are protesting. It’s a lack of infrastructure and the everyday enshittification of services, the economy, and the additional difficulty of trying to live, relative to peers in any other country. It also highlights why people don’t get uniformly listened to! - because there is no government architecture to engage meaningfully across this huge gap.
That gap is a three hour drive to work in traffic, a 14 month wait for an MRI, buses that don’t arrive, trains that don’t exist, schools that have no places for your kids, houses that are unaffordable, pubs that close before midnight, €12 sandwiches, expensive fuel.
People feel this gap, even if they can’t explain it precisely. And that builds into resentment, and ultimately protest. Fuel just happened to be the next thing that could be pointed to, today.
Today Katie came into me and sobbed her heart out because she has had to defer college for September.
I cannot even put into words what that felt like as her mam.
At 19 years of age, Katie should be excited for her future. She should be getting ready for college, making plans, looking forward to the next chapter of her life like every other young person her age. Instead, her life is being put on hold because she is in pain, because her body is getting worse, and because I still cannot raise the money needed to get her to Florida for the surgery that could change her life.
A while later, she posted a video on TikTok, and I honestly felt my heart break all over again.
Because behind every update, every video, every post, there is a real young girl watching her future slip further away while we fight and beg for help.
And tonight I feel broken.
I feel like the worst mam in the world because no matter how hard I try, no matter how much I beg, post, fundraise, sell, share, email and fight, I still cannot get Katie what she needs.
Watching your child cry because she has had to give up college is a pain I would not wish on any parent. She should not have to put her dreams on hold because of money. She should not have to watch her friends move on while she is left behind through no fault of her own.
All I want is to get my daughter to Florida for her surgery. That is it. Not a luxury. Not something extra. Just the surgery she desperately needs so she can have a chance at a life with less pain, more freedom, and some hope of getting her future back.
So tonight I am begging.
Please, please help me get Katie to Florida.
If you can donate, please donate. If you cannot, please share this post. Share her story. Share her videos. Tell people about her. Help me reach someone who can help.
Because right now I am a mother watching her daughter’s world get smaller and smaller, and I am begging the public to help me change that before it is too late.
Please help me save Katie’s future.

@MichealMartinTD I see the Irish government has still not funded Roxanne Nolans lifesaving scoliosis surgery yet.
Countless other children are still stuck on waiting lists for years, enduring severe pain.

The Opposition claims nothing has been done. This is manifestly untrue.
We are implementing significant action, with a total package of €750 million designed to very directly help protect jobs and keep costs down.

@MaryLouMcDonald Mary Lou’s hands are going like the hammers of hell, didn’t hear much from her during the lockdown of O’Connell street, was she canvassing, or stoking the cinders, full of wind, her in government in the north did nothing for anybody
Hours of backslapping and self-praise from Fianna Fáil, Fine Gael and the Independents. Still not listening. But the cracks are starting to show in this arrogant government. They’ve lost two TDs. Let’s keep the pressure up. This is not over. The people must be heard.
@conormlally And of course the multimillionaire, Michael Healy-Rae, ran away like a scalded cat at the first sign of troubles.
How the fuck could you trust any Kerryman after that.
Agreed to anything to get his grubby hands on a ministerial post, but bottled it at the first sign of trouble.
Public Order Unit gardai were on standby at #fuelprotest outside Leinster House for vote of no confidence in Government.
However, these gardai have now just returned to Garda vans parked nearby
