Diagnosed in 2017 as just the 16th case worldwide, Aaron remains the only child in Scotland with this condition. Later this year, Aaron will face major spinal surgery to correct scoliosis. While life-changing, the procedure carries significant risks, especially given his complex needs, and will require a very careful recovery. Aaron is full of energy and curiosity, with no sense of danger as he loves to climb, explore, and move. After surgery, this natural instinct could put him at serious risk, as he won’t understand the need to stay still or how movement could harm him. That’s why we’re supporting a fundraiser for a specialist Hannah Cot Bed which would provide Aaron with a safe, secure space to rest and recover properly after his operation.
