Calling the current situation “an opportunity” is offensive and inhumane. Tens of thousands have been killed, and Bennett sees it as a chance to expand the war, risking even more lives. Every effort by Israel and the US to “reshape” the Middle East has resulted in a worse situation. Israel is now less safe than ever, a consequence of the policies of Netanyahu, Ariel Sharon, and Bennet. They continue to promise a better Middle East after one more war, much like Netanyahu’s assurances about invading Iraq, which led to a failed state and ISIS. This so-called opportunity will further destabilize the region, and in a few years, Bennett will likely rewrite history to claim he opposed this escalation.
