A man decided to paint the toilet while his wife was away. His wife came home sooner than he expected, used the toilet, and got the seat stuck to her rear. She was distraught and asked her husband to drive her to the doctor. She put a large overcoat on to cover the seat before they went. When they got to the doctor’s office, the man lifted his wife’s coat to show him their predicament.
The man asked, “Doctor, have you ever seen anything like this before?”
“Well, yes,” the doctor replied, “but never framed.”

Ukraine believes that every democratic nation in Europe deserves to be a full member of the EU. And we are working as actively as possible to achieve this.
Please, do not forget that Ukraine merits it because it has paid more than any other European country for its right to be free, independent, and European. This right is not only for Ukraine. It is also the right of other nations to be independent from Russia.
The future of Europe – free, united and in peace – is being decided in our defense. That shows how unique our situation is. I’m grateful to everyone who recognizes this and who takes the necessary steps to show that Europe truly values and supports it.
The most important such step could be a fast-track path for Ukraine to join the EU.
From an address at the EU Council meeting. (1/3)

In 1946, a country doctor in rural Tennessee delivered a baby girl.
The family couldn't afford to pay him.
So they gave him a sack of cornmeal.
That baby was Dolly Parton.
She grew up in a one-room cabin with no electricity, no running water, and 11 siblings. Her clothes were sewn from feed sacks. Kids laughed at her homemade coat.
But her family had music.
At 18, she left for Nashville with a guitar and a dream.
The world got "Jolene," "I Will Always Love You," and one of the greatest careers in music history.
What many people don't know is what she did with her success.
In 1995, she created Dolly Parton's Imagination Library, mailing free books to children every month.
Today, it has delivered over 250 million books across multiple countries.
When wildfires devastated Tennessee in 2016, she gave monthly payments to families who lost everything—because recovery doesn't happen all at once.
During COVID, she donated $1 million to medical research that helped support development of the Moderna vaccine.
Dolly Parton turned poverty into generosity, heartbreak into hope, and success into service.
A doctor was paid in cornmeal for helping bring her into the world.
For the next 80 years, she spent her life paying it forward.

For five years, a dog greeted the mailman with his tennis ball, until one day, his owner came out holding it instead.
In 2019, a new mailman started delivering in the neighborhood and quickly learned there was one house he always looked forward to.
Because of the dog waiting by the front gate.
At first, the mailman gave him small treats just to win him over, but over time, the dog stopped treating him like a stranger. While other dogs barked from behind fences, this one waited gently, tail wagging, like he knew exactly what time his friend was supposed to arrive.
Eventually, the routine became theirs.
The mailman would walk up, give him a treat, pet his head, and the dog would run to grab his favorite tennis ball, proudly dropping it near the gate like he wanted to play before the man moved on.
On sick days when he couldn’t work, the other mailmen who cover his route said the dog never acted the same with them. He stayed back, watched quietly, and waited for the one person he had chosen.
For five years, that little routine never changed.
Until one morning, the mailman reached the house and the dog wasn’t there.
Instead, the owner came outside holding the same worn tennis ball and told him the dog had passed away from old age.
He said seeing the mailman had become his dog’s favorite part of the day, and before putting the ball away, he wanted the mailman to have it.
The mailman stood there crying while the owner stayed beside him in silence.

More than 40 years ago, I arrived in Chicago in search of an idea. I was a young man looking for purpose, who believed deeply in America, was inspired by the Civil Rights Movement, and wanted to be a part of something larger. The America I believed in was one where everyone has opportunity, everyone is seen, everyone belongs—because that was an America that had a place for me, too.
