@maties_tp You are so right. Having worked at a film company, I am, as my ex-gf has called me, a film ratio snob. It goes both ways. Now TV stations are dumbing down, turning 4:3 (1:33) TV shows into widescreen. Wrong. Don't compromise integrity of original ratio be it old TV or cinema.

Thanks for the condescending 'longtime customer' pat on the head right before you brick my perfectly working 14-year-old Kindle on May 20.
No more buying, borrowing, or downloading books. Reset it? It's dead forever.
Treating loyal readers like cash cows with an expiration date is peak corporate greed.

My Kindle is fifteen years old. It still works fine, and I want no other.
I read a lot, and this is the only e-reader that doesnโt hurt my eyes. None of the new models have a screen that so perfectly mimics paper. And now Amazon is forcing me to buy a new one. ๐ก
I donโt need a touchscreen or sound, and I definitely donโt want adverts! ๐คฌ
The timing couldnโt be worse eitherโฆ I canโt afford it right now. โน๏ธ
I guess I wonโt be buying more ebooks for a while... Iโll just have to read the ones I already have.

In my brief life, I have owned records, cassettes, CDs, VHS tapes, DVDs. I have never seen a technology that didn't end up defunct or superceded.

This is A NIGHTMARE. Amazon is bricking old Kindles, including my beloved Kindle 5 (with the side buttons). I hate the touch screen versions, I've tried them and I'm always accidentally flipping pages.
