Some opinions about Higher Ed: ABCs: College should be Affordable without necessary reliance on student debt, Based in the workplace, and award Credit for learning at work. Apprenticeship Degree: Work-based learning should be a primary focus of Higher Ed, starting with the work-based associate degree K12 Teacher Pipeline: Apprenticeship should be the mainstream way into the teaching profession and “related instruction” should prioritize traditional liberal arts (including math, science, and computer science) Academic Journals: Editors should be expected to publish a dissent or a critique paired with every article

Scenes from #sxswedu where @reachuniversity took the stage to talk about the Apprenticeship Degree. instagr.am/p/DV1JY8mje4e/ I hosted a panel “College on the Clock” about turning jobs into degrees, with perspectives from Kate Herman of Bloomberg, Laura Hopkins of the Healthcare Training Fund, and Dr. Holly Smith of NCAD. And marketing legend Roy Spence (“don’t mess with Texas”) keynoted an evening reception that featured Reach candidate Johnny Moya.

Teachers shape lives far beyond the classroom. Joe Ross knows this firsthand, and he is helping others do the same. Through @ReachUniversity apprenticeship-based degrees, working adults can earn debt-free credentials while turning their daily work into hands-on training that prepares them for teaching roles. This approach builds stronger local talent pipelines and expands opportunities for the communities they serve. Read how this model is redefining what a college pathway can look like! hubs.la/Q042Jxp10
