⚡️BREAKING: The New York Times obtained autopsy reports for 14 of the 15 people killed in the March 23 Israeli attack on an ambulance and fire truck in Gaza. The reports show that most victims—paramedics and rescue workers—were killed by gunshots to the head, chest, or back. Four were shot directly in the head [executed]. Others had shrapnel wounds. Despite wearing medical uniforms and traveling in marked vehicles with sirens, they were shot multiple times at close range. Israel initially lied about the crime committed then later took responsibility once the lies were exposed. The 15 victims included 14 rescue workers and a UN employee. Israeli soldiers buried the bodies in a mass grave and crushed and buried the ambulances, fire truck, and UN vehicle.

I am devastated to learn of the death of a person in City custody this morning. My heart is with their loved ones and everyone impacted by this unimaginable loss.   The Department of Correction and our oversight partners have begun investigating the circumstances surrounding this death.   Our administration remains firmly committed to the urgent and essential work of creating better conditions in our city’s jail system and closing Rikers Island as quickly as possible.

There was never a $12 billion hole in the budget. That fairy tale was cooked up to justify reckless spending and political theater. I left the incoming administration with $8 billion in reserves, not a financial apocalypse. Albany election-year bailouts are not a long-term economic strategy. The free money dries up after Election Day, but the bloated “free” programs stay forever. And here’s the part the socialists in City Hall never want to admit: the millionaires and billionaires they love demonizing already pay roughly 40% of NYC’s taxes. Keep demonizing the people creating jobs, investing in this city, and carrying the tax base, and eventually they’ll stop investing here altogether. Facts are stubborn things. Even when some politicians aren’t.

It’s incredible how “if we meet people’s basic needs, they’ll stop working” and “billionaires are hard workers” coexist in people’s minds.

It’s level-headed organizers trying desperately to get AIDS meds approved by the government while their community's dying and scared to death. It's the community-minded lesbians who generously helped out dying gay men when there was no PReP. The idea that you’d fight fascism with dancing is a slap in true activists’ faces. While experiencing queer joy is important, it has no clear goals. Joy can refuel you for the fight. But what fight? You’d never know from Ru, probably because concrete solutions would alienate some of his fans/coins. “I been that bitch, yes I love that drama Fishy, feminine up-and-comer From the Clintons to the Obamas”. -Call Me Mother Ru complains about the death of critical thinking, yet he isn’t able to connect do-nothing, centrist Dems helping to usher in fascism. The pattern of feckless liberals getting fascists elected is well-established in history. It was a factor in the rise of Hitler. Did you know that one symptom of fascism is government uniting with corporations? Harris used Drag Race's set as a campaign stop, & her only ideology is serving corporate donors. Another symptom of it? Corrupt politicians enriching themselves. Nancy Pelosi, a former judge on Drag Race, is a poster child for this. And yes, it happens in both parties. Another symptom of fascism? Disdain for human rights, which all Dem leaders showed by funding Israel's attacks on Gaza and beyond. Woohoo! Let's all dance away almost three years of that live-streamed suffering! Not to mention that Paramount +, which streams Drag Race, is owned by billionaire zio Larry Ellison, a friend of/donor to far-right fascist Netanyahu. Also a big Trump donor, whose goal is to give Israel and right-wing values favorable coverage on TV. Ellison's pushing for a merger with Warner Bros which would give him CNN and HBO, along with CBS, Paramount and more which he already owns. So Drag Race partners with fascists while Ru complains about them. Practice what you preach, Mary! Except that what Ru is preaching now literally makes no sense.

They did. Doctors found scrambled eggs in her lungs. Her name was Doris Coulson. Her family sued for wrongful death. The owner never showed up to contest the case. A judge awarded them nearly $19 million. He never paid. While the family waited, that same owner was spending more than $1 million lobbying the president of the United States. It worked. Trump pardoned him. The White House called his prosecution “an example of over prosecution.” A top DOJ official declared him “free to rebuild.” His name is Joseph Schwartz. Prosecutors say he still has $58 million in assets. None of it is in his own name. Doris’s daughter Amanda fought for that judgment for years. Amanda has since died. Her family still hasn’t seen a dollar. When Schwartz briefly returned to prison on a separate state fraud charge, a lawyer for the family raced to serve him with a subpoena - one last shot to locate his assets and force payment. He was released within three weeks. The subpoena never reached him. There was a machinery working to shorten his punishment. There was nothing to help his victims. What do we call a system where a man can owe $19 million to a grieving family, spend $1 million lobbying a president, walk free — and still can’t be found to serve a subpoena?
