Patrick Brown recently argued that non-citizens who commit crimes should be deported immediately. He believes that fast-tracking these deportations is necessary to keep our communities safe and protect the integrity of Canada’s immigration system. To him, if you break the rules, you lose your right to stay. However, I strongly disagree with this approach. As a centrist conservative who believes deeply in the core values of our Constitution, I know that everyone in Canada deserves a fair trial, NO MATTER their legal status. Skipping the legal appeals process destroys our justice system and leads to unfair mistakes. Furthermore, kicking people out right away ignores the real issues. We are blaming international students and temporary workers for bigger problems like high housing costs and broken school systems. Instead of using newcomers as scapegoats, Canada needs a compassionate system that protects human rights and fixes the root causes of crime. My opinion. 🇨🇦 #canpoli #HumanRightsMatter
