One UK passenger has lab-confirmed Andes hantavirus and is in ICU in Johannesburg. Five other suspected cases on board. Cape Verde will not let them dock. 149 people remain at anchor, including 17 Americans. The doctor CNN interviewed said his first reaction was that the report had to be a misprint. It would have been, if the ship had departed from anywhere else.

Contact tracing is now ongoing for fellow passengers. A recent Andes Virus outbreak was published in NEJM outlining person-person transmission from Nov 2018 to Feb 2019 in Argentina. This is extremely disturbing and hard to watch 🚨 A woman at a local river in Maple Ridge allegedly noticed a man being abusive to his daughter so she started recording. She captured a man who’s name is surfacing online as Adrian Phillips grabbing his young daughter, slamming her into the river, and slapping her in the head 😳👀 The girl, who is allegedly autistic, was losing her balance while crossing the river when he grabbed her by her clothing and submerged her. This is heartbreaking. 💔
