Calling all educators! Doing some research for @Skyward_Inc. If you allow students to retake work for the chance at a better grade, do you always use the last score?

@SkywardPRGuy @LeadWithCulture Thought you would pick this one up Avery. Guess I gotta be the guy.

@LeadWithCulture It must be the day of triple digits, I'm at 111. Still doesn't hold a candle to 666 though...

@LeadWithCulture The real hero of this project is being able to use the custom filters! Kudos to Eric for crushing those from scratch! 🤘Rockstar🤘

@LeadWithCulture Easy to prioritize with that kind of feedback! Time to help some folks day get a little easier.

@MiraTeachMe @DougCollinsUX We have this type of search functionality for our online "help center" which helps our users find topics they are searching for very quickly. It usually populates a relevant topic after 3 characters! #uxchat

@LeadWithCulture Had a lot of fun with this one 😀 happy to make the vision come to life! Thanks for all the feedback early on & the freedom throughout to make this one possible!

@annesmiless @trello Same here, really excited to try it out though!

@DougCollinsUX @DougCollinsUX Thanks for hosting today! Great job. 👍👍

Thanks so much! I'm using some of the lessons learned in today's #UXchat to put a finer point on my upcoming class on #EthicalUX. I was planning on releasing it via SkillShare, but I plan on making this one free via my YouTube channel. Keep an eye out! #ux #design #ethics

A3: "Roach Motel" is pretty a common #DarkPattern I see. (Making it extremely easy to join / subscribe, and making it nearly impossible to unsubscribe. Amazon was a great example as seen in this great video. youtu.be/kxkrdLI6e6M #uxchat

@DougCollinsUX Hmm, I'm not sure! I really believe in leading "up the chain" as an effective strategy / requirement of the job. I hope all UXers are right there with me!
English

@cjesign Are #UX pros necessarily leaders? Is it possible to be a UXer without providing leadership in your organization on subjects like #EthicalUX #Design? #uxchat
English

A2: I've luckily not been in this position yet. But I also feel if things have progressed to this point, that we have failed long ago as UX practitioners. Education, knowledge spreading, and leadership is required long before we get to this point. #uxchat
English

@DougCollinsUX @karenbachmann @ojmqd @whatusersdo I think education is a crucial step. We as ux folks are very familiar with these patterns, but many of the people I talk with about them are very surprised to learn about how nefarious un-ethical design can be. #uxchat
English

@karenbachmann @ojmqd @whatusersdo I strongly believe that step one is making sure we have these conversations. It's one of the reason I picked this topic for my #uxchat. What's step 2? More education and learning on the subject? #uxchat
English

Welcome to #uxchat with host @DougCollinsUX 🎉
Q1: Why is it important for UX professionals to design ethically?
#designethics #uxdesign

English

@DougCollinsUX I think we do have that responsibility! I often think about the persuasive techniques we employ. I always go by "If the user & the company benefits mutually, it is acceptable. When you get into benefiting the company more than the users.. that is trouble.
English

A1: With great power comes great responsibility! Our skillsets used un-ethically can be dangerous, and have real life consequences for our users. I feel we are often the last line of defense for users. #uxchat
