First thing to notice is once we lose possession, how deep & passive we fell into a defensive line. Then watch Botman provide no support to Hall. Ditto Barnes. Botman’s poor positioning see’s Thiaw drawn weakly to front post. Tino fails to get across his man EH & JT blame Hall

@davez2010 Dan Burn clattering into the back of Botman rather than positioning himself better, making the call and attacking the ball rather than leave it for Botman then clattering him wasn’t the best bit of defending. Our communication at the back is non existent now

I put the blame somewhat on Tonali for this goal yesterday for not tracking Truffert, I was wrong…… that recovery run from a freshly subbed on Murphy is nothing short of pathetic. Another player in a long list that needs to be moved on this summer. #NUFC

@stevewraith Players have been a disgrace. Plenty hiding today when we were in possession. No balls to stand up and fight when needed. Howe also picked the wrong team so not blameless. I think he might survive, get the bad eggs out in summer and go again.

Players have chucked Eddie under the bus at #nufc because a lot of players just aren’t doing the basics and lets face it haven’t for big parts of season in the league. Eddie’s stubborness to change formations and use players we signed for big money will probably cost him his job by the end of the season. On current form we may not win another game. If we lose the next 2 i would not be suprised to see an amicable departure announced. It’s mad. A year ago people were calling for statues and a 10 year contract…welcome to modern day football…

Eddie Howe remains the best manager for Newcastle United and deserves the chance to rebuild the squad in the summer with a proper support structure in place. If he leaves in the summer, I believe the club will regret it. Probably swiftly and for a long time. This is my opinion. I have covered the club for 23 years. I watch them pretty much every week and nothing that happens between now and the end of May will change my mind. It’s fine to disagree. I’ve seen a few comments about where I’m from recently and the fact I’m not a fan. Like that prevents me from having an opinion on a club it is my job to cover and has been for more than two decades. This is my professional opinion as a football journalist. Lots of you will disagree with it. @Neilfarrington Tino has been poor all season along with plenty others. There’s been something missing all from the team all season, the togetherness from past seasons has definitely gone. Faith in the manager from the players also seems to be going but they have a lot to answer for!

Nothing wrong with Anthony Gordon wanting his fourth. He won the penalty. He’s designated pen-taker. He’s on fire. Love that confidence. (And alway good to see an Englishman nailing pens in a World Cup year). Kieran Trippier, a very team-minded player, may have been thinking of boosting Nick Woltemade’s belief by getting Gordon to give him the chance. But Gordon’s focused, confident and that fourth ensures a substantial buffer - even with Qarabag pulling a goal back. #QARNEW

No real answers just patter about 5 year plans and embarrasing quotes about winning league by 2030…an interview that served no real purpose. Be nice to hear from PIF instead. Eddie says plan was not to buy in this window due to PSR. Why was SD briefing journalists late last year that we could spend?
