@ckipp01

I enjoy working on tooling, simple tech, and learning. One day I'll know things. I try to write Scala and host the Tooling Talks podcast. he/him

@olafurpg Have you tried letting the agent just use Metals as an MCP server to iterate on tests? I found that approach really useful and much more quick.

Bloop is working better for me with Metals than the sbt server. I’m also having more success letting the AI agent iterate on tests with Bloop instead of sbt --client

So after 5 years of working at the Scala Center, my final work contract will be expiring July 31st (EPFL rules). I have thoroughly enjoyed working in such a great community. All this to say I am now looking for something new (remote/Switzerland/EU/UK).

@ckipp01 8. For good food and beer, I recommend Elektrownia Powiśle and Fabryka Norblina, but you will find lots of pubs and street food in the centre as well You can google all the names. They're all more or less in the city centre. I'm in Kraków until Sunday. When do you leave?

It was an absolute pleasure to be able to moderate this panel. A lot of insightful thoughts in here. Give it a listen!
Scala Days@scaladays

At #ScalaDays, @ckipp01 and a group of panelists from around the Scala community tackled all the Scala hot topics and answered some burning questions about the state of Scala.

Follow along as @ckipp01 used Scala and Processing to dip our toes into generative art via flow fields and look at what a minimal, flexible workflow for this is by live-coding some examples using scala-cli at #ScalaDays. youtu.be/hIIfdYtrARY

@hochgi Publically, I believe the entire haoyili ecosystem and Scala-CLI is built with Mill. There are companies using it too.

Anyone uses mill for serious #scala projects? I may have to give mill another go. The last time I remember using it, was long time ago, and only for a toy project: github.com/hochgi/logstal… <<<

With a lingering sense of betrayal and deep respect for sbt: I must say that Mill has become my #Scala build tool of choice. Mill is really very good. I'm still using both, and it'll be good to see what happens with sbt 2.0, but all my new projects will be Mill built for now..

@ckipp01 @scaladays @scala_lang Chris, it was a blast meeting you in person. You are without any doubt, one of the pearls we have in our community. Kind, empathic, professional, and smart. Keep it up ❤️

Now that I've actually had a bit of sleep I've been reflecting on @scaladays and on my own @scala_lang journey. This was my first Scaladays, and I was blown away by the positive interactions I had with so many. It was an absolutely pleasure to be a part of the events all week.

I'm really looking forward to @scaladays in Madrid next week. Apart from my talk that I'm excited to give I also get to moderate the closing panel about the State of Scala. I thought I'd crowdsource a bit. What are some questions you'd like to see asked?
