A DUP councillor has implied there was a link between the way women dress and an alleged sexual assault in Ballymena last summer — which a fellow party member branded as “stupid”. belfasttelegraph.co.uk/news/politics/…

Some in politics have opted to pussyfoot around their criticism of racially motivated violence here. Aggression towards minorities came long before “legitimate concerns” - I was put out of my home over a decade ago. @BelTel tinyurl.com/ye52zxzy

Thank you @QUBelfast for the warm welcome. It was a pleasure to speak to @QUBLiterific in their 175th year and discuss the issues that matter to staff and students including Brexit, populism and public service.
Professor Sir Ian Greer@QUBVChancellor

I was pleased to welcome the Rt. Hon. Baroness @theresa_may of Maidenhead, former #PrimeMinister of the #UnitedKingdom, to @QUBelfast today. Baroness May took part in an 'In Conversation' event with @QUBLiterific as part of their LitTalk series. As the University's #Debating society and our oldest student society - celebrating 175 years this year - Literific provides a platform for meaningful discussion and #Debate. With a distinguished career in #PublicService, from serving as #PrimeMinister to a lifetime of political leadership and advocacy, Baroness May shared her insights on #Politics, #Leadership, and her contributions to society. It was a privilege for our students to hear her reflections, engage with her directly, and have their voices heard on the issues that matter most to them.
