So sorry to read this news of the death of photojournalist Paul Conroy, one of the bravest people I have ever known; badly injured in the attack by which killed Marie Colvin in Syria, he went on to report from Ukraine. He gave the @AmnestyNI Lecture in 2014 @BelfastFestival.

Paul Conroy trained me to be safe before my first time at the front and kept me alive countless times together in Donbas. He is a complete hero and inspiration. The reason I became a frontline journalist. I am utterly devastated by this news. He had the best sense of humour The best taste in music The best storyteller He will always be the best journalist. He may be gone from this earth but his legacy will never be
