@BretsTypeWriter I got Royal Festival Hall on the Sat in the end. Took an hour of queuing on Southbank Centre sight in the end. Was only night could manage with work and finding babysitter etc

Bob Dylan calling it the "North America" 2026 tour, then playing zero shows in Canada. He does this to fuck with me, folks. He thinks I'll just sit back and take it. Well, you know what? You know what, BOB? You do this to me 10 or 12 more times... 15 tops... and THAT'S IT!!

The number of banned books over the centuries is depressingly high, but movies get banned nearly as often. Extreme violence (Cannibal Holocaust), controversial content (A Clockwork Orange) and that sex thing are the biggest reasons. Any films you think should get banned? 🤷

Desperately awaiting the announcement of the rest of these Bob Dylan European tour dates. Excited posts from this time last year tell me they were announced on 10 July.

Part of what makes Bob Dylan such a great singer, and he is a great singer, is his ability to connect with the listener, which is the most important thing a singer can do, and his believability. When Dylan is hitting a really great vocal, like, Idiot Wind or Moonshiner, you really believe him. It feels real. And I do think one of the things that was missing during the fallow periods before Time Out Of Mind was this power. It wasn’t just about a bit of a dip in song quality, instead, it was that a lot of the time he sounded like a singer singing songs. That was one of the great things Lanois pulled out of him again on TOOM. You put that album on and you remembered “ah, this is it.” He sounded in the moment again. Songs like Love Sick or Standing In the Doorway sound believable. Like live recordings, in that they feel they are happening now. It lets us connect like his best songs do.

The thumbs up response to this is excellent news. Love this album.
