Was watching an old TV show where the kids didn't call their friend's parents by their first names, but as "Mr Smith" or "Mrs Jones" much as I did in the 80s. Yet it would feel bizarre to me, if my daughter's friends called me Mr Lewis now.

Actually Patrick, it means those who've come here to work in jobs that form the backbone of society - care workers, teaching assistants, cleaners. Nobody in such jobs should be in poverty. When we’re talking about lifting children out of poverty, why wouldn’t we mean everyone?

@Swisspicknic @GMB I do a couple of shifts each week in my local pub. It’s upsetting seeing families out for a nice meal but the kids are under headphones watching iPads. I take the families food order and the kids won’t listen to their parents when asked what they want. Too distracted with iPads!

@GMB Honestly? In restaurants give them crayons and colouring books ,almost all have them here, or bring toys, and involve your children and talk to them don't park them
