The Mayor of San Francisco, Daniel Lurie, has announced Dead & Company’s August 1-3, 2025 concerts at historic Golden Gate Park in celebration of the Grateful Dead’s 60th anniversary!! “We have some really big news. Dead & Co., three shows, August 1st, 2nd and 3rd, right here in the city that is the home of the Grateful Dead. What better way to celebrate? We’ll see you out here in August,” Golden Gate Park also drew thousands of Deadheads following the passing of Grateful Dead lead guitarist Jerry Garcia, when fans, admirers, and bandmates arrived at the park’s Polo Fields on August 13, 1995, for a final salute to the prolific musician. The last time Dead & Company performed in San Francisco was during their Final Tour, over two nights, on July 15 and 16, 2023, at Oracle Park. Outside the Bay Area, the ensemble played at the Los Angeles Convention Center during MusiCares’ 2025 event. I think the coolest part about last night's Madhuvan is that - just like the Westville Rockdale - they tapped into some weird and dark play and STUCK WITH IT! We see these glimpses all the time but it usually gets abandoned fairly quick so it's a treat when it gets explored
