@roseromaunt French was the lingua franca back in the day, people learned it mostly because it was useful, not because of romantic notions of civilization.
English

>Arabic instead of French
How low we have fallen…

Spain’s Princess Leonor speaks 3 languages, including Arabic 🇪🇸😍 She literally speaks fluent Arabic.

@ceoofcomedy144 If there is no profit, and if the workers double revenues and costs, then everyone earns the same.
20 workers making 20 cars would have each worker earn as much as 10 workers making 10 cars.
Owners have much more of an incentive to expand.
English

@claudemonium If it’s double the profit, then you definitely could pay the workers more
English

The sentence “people who aren’t worthy of the MINIMUM wage” explains everything you need to know about the right

@ceoofcomedy144 @myname93353387 @v0idNA @quantballs @rossivision Look, just talk to an LLM about the empirics of CEOs, I do not have neither the time nor energy to quote you the relevant figures.
Also try to understand corporate governance, roles, and legal structure.
It is good to know about the system you are trying to criticize!
English

@claudemonium @myname93353387 @v0idNA @quantballs @rossivision But a lot of the time, they do own a large portion of the business and make money doing nothing. They don’t have to contribute anything of value as long as they can hype up shareholders
English

@ceoofcomedy144 While if it was a co up, doubling the product by doubling the amount of workers would have everyone earning the same.
Again, feel free to review the empirics.
English

@ceoofcomedy144 The owner takes part of every workers wage, the workers do not.
Imagine for simplicity, you had a company with an owner and 10 employees making 10 cars, the profit margin is 5%.
If you double the workers and double the output, the owners would get gwice as rich.
English

@ceoofcomedy144 @myname93353387 @v0idNA @quantballs @rossivision If you can buy 51% of the shares of a big company then the CEO salary is basically change to you.
And regardless, the vase majority of CEOs are not owners.
English

@claudemonium @myname93353387 @v0idNA @quantballs @rossivision You can make yourself ceo by buying out a company, my guy. If you own the company, you have a lot of power
English

@HeadlessLovers @Insane_Ccraft @adhee1673 That is mostly an artifact of reporting, the DOJ switched its methodology from voluntary reporting to conducting its own investigation for death involving police counts.
If you wanna talk about systemic racism, then Black to White income and life expectancy gaps have shrunk.
English

@claudemonium @Insane_Ccraft @adhee1673 good for the people. now search the rate of police killings and lets see how much the systemic violence on non-whites is declining
English

@ceoofcomedy144 Expanding means hiring more workers, so the money you get just goes to new workers.
And that assuming fully rational expnomic self interest, such systems usually end up with incompetent but popular managers.
English

@claudemonium That’s because it all goes to the top in the current system. It’s not an inherent characteristic of expanding a business. If they make more money, more of that money should go to the workers.
English

@ceoofcomedy144 @myname93353387 @v0idNA @quantballs @rossivision When you buy companies you do not become a ceo, a CEO is just an employee.
English

@claudemonium @myname93353387 @v0idNA @quantballs @rossivision So buying out companies and becoming ceo doesn’t make you ceo?
English

@ceoofcomedy144 @myname93353387 @v0idNA @quantballs @rossivision a CEO usually has some technical ability.
the workers usually stand to benefit little from firm expansion because it usually involves hiring more workers or contracting, thus diffusing the increase in revenue, feel free to review the empirics of co-ops.
English

@claudemonium @myname93353387 @v0idNA @quantballs @rossivision Technical knowledge includes knowing what that technology could be used for, dude. Also workers would be interested in that if it meant they got paid more for it, which they should since they’re producing the actual value
English

@ceoofcomedy144 @myname93353387 @v0idNA @quantballs @rossivision no one gets to be a billionaire by being a CEO, they get to be a billionaire by holding stock.
these nepo babies are not CEOs, they are just inherited a lot of their family estate.
English

@claudemonium @myname93353387 @v0idNA @quantballs @rossivision Except they clearly don’t because a lot of billionaires are nepo babies
English

@ceoofcomedy144 @myname93353387 @v0idNA @quantballs @rossivision a firm which appoints a CEO based on nepotism would be outperformed by firms which choose actually good CEOs, this is why American businesses are largely non familial, unlike in places with more controlled markets like korea.
English

@myname93353387 @claudemonium @v0idNA @quantballs @rossivision The people working on the technology should definitely have a say in terms of production and often to want a say so that their efforts aren’t wasted. Why not just have it so that people vote in their boss instead of them being appointed because their dad is on the board?
English

@adhee1673 is this decline with us in the room right now ?
English

@4butaymiyah @ai0xzc some genres are anti-correlated with IQ once you do the usual controls.
English

@ceoofcomedy144 @myname93353387 @v0idNA @quantballs @rossivision steering the enterprise, choosing which products to make, which partners to work with etc.
the difference between a good CEO which knows what to do, and a bad one which doesn't is enormous, this is why shareholders pay a lot to attract good CEOs.
English

@v0idNA @quantballs @rossivision why would CEOs be paid a lot then? are the share holders just into throwing away their money?
English

@quantballs @rossivision Like CEOs who sit on their asses and do nothing all day
English
