Director @RCCGlasgow. Scunnered by regressive policies, practice and attitudes. There’s always a way, even if you need to make it.

Thank you to everyone who chatted to us and donated today @RangersFC ⚽️

If you’re going to the @RangersFC game today look out for us! We’re so thankful to be there there to help fundraise. We’ll be in bright pink or bright yellow tops, so you should easily spot us if you want to chat and can help us. You can also donate here justgiving.com/page/oliviatre…

Help us fundraise 🪙 this Friday! Liv, one of our workers, is taking on the mammoth trek ⛰️of Machu Picchu in Peru 🇵🇪 to raise awareness and funds for our vital work. If you can help or share, we would be so grateful 🙏 Find out more ⬇️ glasgowclyderapecrisis.org.uk/news/from-glas…

It’s been incredibly difficult over the least few weeks as we at @RCCGlasgow made impossible decisions, like closing waiting lists. It has been heartbreaking, and quite simply; we should never have been in that position. Throughout it all, my team and others across our sector have kept survivors front of mind. They are why we exist. It is why we show up, each and every day. We have sought to secure better for our vital services and, importantly, survivors who need us more than ever. The proposed standstill level for DES was issued to us and others recently. This would have brought our essential services @RCCGlasgow to a long term standstill. Whilst conversations are still ongoing with SG and officials, we welcome the DES uplift of 5% (that has now been secured for all funded orgs in the VAWG sector and announced in today’s budget), as a result of efforts made. We will never stop doing what is needed to support women and girls, and offer them the help they deserve. I want to thank all the women, men, organisations and others that have helped us mobilise and push for better in this past few weeks. Your support, your shared voices, your compassion and hope for better for our women and girls is profound. You may never know the direct impact it has made, but please know that we are eternally grateful with each and every survivor we support. Our priority is, and always will be, supporting survivors. We will do everything in our power to ensure that they continue to have access to expert support and advocacy.
