@aurooba @jcasabona @LocalWP Interesting! I have seen issues where symlinks can throw off the value of PHP's internal methods such as dirname(), so you may need to make sure the symlink source is also named "wp-plugins" if it isn't already.

@jcasabona @LocalWP It's not perfect support but it works mostly. I haven't been able to make it work for mu-plugins for some reason but otherwise works well.

@nigelmrodgers @jcasabona @LocalWP We're digging into this! Browsers have gotten more strict with certificates recently.

@jcasabona @LocalWP Found out today that I can generate an SSL certificate, then found out that chrome and edge won't accept the cert. (On Linux Ubuntu)

I'm on @tableplus now for all my database spelunkin'. I was hoping to open up my local WordPress DB in it, so was _pleasantly surpised_ to find that @localwp has an extension for it.

@james_evers @LocalWP Interesting! I wonder if it's IPv6 related as Local adds ::1 entries to the hosts file. One thing that's worth trying is switching the router mode to localhost. See localwp.com/help-docs/adva…

@james_evers @LocalWP Hi James, are you seeing slow DNS resolution in your browser or a long TTFB with Local? Local uses the hosts file for name resolution so I'd be surprised if there's an actual DNS delay in the browser.

@LocalWP Hi! Why on earth are you in Local By Flywheel for macOS linking to download an app that's not been maintained since 2016? O_o The site is not using SSL either, latest tweet is 2018 also for it. Just curious why you do this.

@tideman_io @LocalWP Aha! Heh, Sequel Pro is an interesting subject. Long story short, we have plans to remove the Sequel Pro button in favor of Add-ons that add support for your preferred DB tool.

@claygriffiths @LocalWP Hi Clay! Naaah, I was on 5.9.7, now on 5.9.8 and still seeing Sequel Pro and latest release is from 2016. ^^ Maybe it's working fine, I dunno. But seems strange to link to 5 year old programs. Just curious why. :) 5.9.7 didn't find any updates either, which is strange.

Trying to set up my WordPress site locally, and MAMP, Pantheon LocalDev, and Local by FlyWheel are all various states of busted. I haven't touched things in a long while, but it's really frustrating to have to wade through a bunch of environment crap just to edit a site.

@claygriffiths I seem to be having an issue where I can't set a breakpoint in @code, just updated to MacOS 11.1 and it certainly could be related. Thoughts?

@ajmorris @LocalWP Changing the Local site path will only relocate the actual site files. The site's compiled configs and raw MySQL data will remain in ~/Library/Application Support/Local/run/SITE_ID. You can symlink these folders if you want to sync the database, but as you know, there is risk 😅

@claygriffiths @LocalWP Would changing the local site path also work in order to help with DB changes moving between devices?

Anyone know the best way to use @LocalWP on multiple computers? Used to use the Volumes add-on, but it’s gone now. cc @claygriffiths
