Finally, someone is reporting on how funding of new NIH grants is effectively frozen due to an administrative block 👇 Grants already submitted cannot be reviewed, and grants already reviewed with excellent scores cannot be funded. This is the opposite of "efficiency".

As we speak, scientisists across the country (including myself) are trying to to take care of simple administrative tasks related to the grants that we have recieved from the National Institutes of Health... 1/n

NIH fosters breakthroughs that profoundly affect how diseases are understood, prevented, and treated. These discoveries enhance health and longevity in the US and the world. NIH is a cornerstone of innovation so it is bizarre that it is under attack
