As part of ongoing efforts to collaboratively design innovation and incubator hub models that align with research and academia, @miic_ug, in collaboration with the @mofpedU, engaged stakeholders at @BusitemaUni. Speaking during the engagement, Prof. Saphina Biira, Deputy Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs and Research at @BusitemaUni, emphasized that universities must move beyond teaching and research to become active drivers of innovation, enterprise development, research commercialization, and community transformation. #InnovateWithUS

We presented our 8-week roadmap from security and fraud prevention to launching a marketplace, growing our community towards a live pilot. The feedback challenged us. The energy inspired us. We’re building for collectors, youth and women across Uganda and we’re locked in♻️💚

Sharing his startup journey, Conrad Segujja, CEO and Founder of Shatoo, highlighted a practical approach to building a product: • Find a problem • Find a customer • Build a product • Acquire more customers He also stressed the importance of validating ideas early, cautioning founders against assuming that customers automatically want or are willing to pay for their product. #StartupHatchBootcamp

This marks the beginning of an exciting phase of learning, growth, and venture development as the startups prepare to scale their innovations and enter the market with the support of our seasoned Business Development Experts.
