Pragmatic solutions to big problems. Nothing here is investment advice, viewpoints are personal only, YMMV...(https://t.co/xxdvsSaGDh)

Everyone dunking on islanded power systems for AI needs to focus their energy on improving grid process. These islanded systems that the data centers are paying for one way or another will connect to the grid the instant they are given a reasonable option for doing so.

Vinod Khosla: “Without being willing to fail you’re not going to succeed in a big way” “To do something exceptional, you have to do something out of the ordinary. And that usually means risk. If you’re doing the ordinary, low-risk stuff, you’re doing what everybody else knows how to do and will do.” Vinod continues: “l’d rather have a high probability of failure and a large consequence of success than reduce risk to the point where my probability of success is high and consequences of success are inconsequential.” Vinod argues that a lot of startups and VCs try to reduce risk too much, and in doing so, limit themselves to inconsequential outcomes. “As much as you want to try and not fail, without being willing to fail you’re not going to succeed in a big way… My personal view is my willingness to fail is entirely responsible for my success.“ Luck is an important component too, Vinod admits. Some founders are really good but fail because of an unlucky break. To these founders, Vinod says, “you can try again.” Video source: @StartupGrind (2015)

This is a useful thread, but the real potential impact would be if the economic uncertainty causes check-writers in general to take a pause. Would impact a wide range of companies and projects.

The Iran story from a power perspective is the LNG price spike in Europe. We’re seeing 30%, maybe more. The way the UK power markets work, the price for power is based on the most expensive resource, which will be gas, so that will cause energy prices to spike.

@WarMonitor3 Yes, but it's also a selection bias issue. Of course the people who are filming and uploading are much more likely to be anti-regime. It's clearly a very split populace.
