Coaches are creators, not dictators.
Here’s 3 good examples:
Switching the paradigm from ‘I’m the leader’ to ‘I’m creating leaders’. Creates accountability.
Switching the paradigm from ‘I’m the decision maker’ on the floor to ‘my players are the decision makers’ on the floor creates empowerment and creativity.
Switching the paradigm from ‘winning and losing defines us’ to ‘our daily habits define us’ creates resiliency.
Paradigm shifts such as these create an environment for extreme growth, both on and off the court. CREATE IT.

The most overlooked skill in basketball is CONDITIONING. This summer we had the privledge of having @collinsworth55 and @kenny1ha bring their company, @DefensiveLove to our town. The thing that stood out to me the most is - ‘basketball conditioning is defensive conditioning’.
Simplified- to be in shape, on both sides of the ball, to be able to constantly apply pressure on the opposing team WITHOUT the ball.
The excerises that are most conducive to basketball (aside from having an elite VO max) are high intensity, low volume drills. Kyle and Kenny had our players using muscles in their bodies that they didn’t even know existed and they had them fatigued in minutes. This is such a competitive advantage to a 40 minute game that is well within our control.
