The IRS is threatening to seize a Tennessee man's farm after charging him interest on a $20,000 refund it accidentally sent him, which he immediately tried to return. Wilson Perry Kirby, 76, says he was accidentally sent $20,000 by the IRS in 2022. Kirby immediately tried returning the money and even hired an accountant to fix the issue. Instead, the IRS is now charging him interest on the money he tried returning and is withholding his 2025 tax refund. "I've tried the president, governor, mayor. They don't mind asking you to vote for them, but when you need help you can't get ahold of nobody," Kirby said. Despite trying to fix the problem, the IRS is still sending letters, demanding he pay interest on the money they accidentally sent him that he tried to return. He never spent it. As a social media admin, i can say it is absolutely normal to draft something like “LeBron Press Conference”, or “LeBron signs with Sixers,” before it happens. I have articles and graphic prepped in case he comes to Philly. The Heat thing might mean nothing

As somebody who has worked at multiple places where you need to prepare content for events that may or may not happen, scheduling a live stream for an introductory press conference a week in advance is very strange —regardless of whether you have inside info that it's happening.

Teams getting LeBron in 2010, 2014, and 2018 didn't know until minutes before his announcement. People have deluded themselves into thinking the Miami Heat would let a social media intern in on a secret a week before an alleged announcement. People_are_so_gullible.

Very very possible every team in the hunt has a plan around getting this news out ASAP (why this potentially went out on accident) vs his decision being made.

Literally anyone that has worked in sports, news, publishing, etc., knows stories are written, social media content is created, etc, for possible events that may occur when they know a possibility exists of major news. Literally everyone in comms does this.

Knicks had an event planned in NYC in 2010 the day of “The Decision” It’s all preparation for the moment if/when it happens so they aren’t scrambling. A YouTube video does not indicate that anything is happening, even if LeBron ends up back in Miami

@pencerm @FTC The crazy thing is if somehow the Heat were dumb enough to tell the IT person that he was signing. Then that person could just make a ton of money on the Poly Market. It's a weird thing that needs more transparency especially with things like this.

Everyone gonna overreact to this and I get it. It’s the human thing to do. Social Media person definitely made a mistake and may even get fired for it. But it’s not a conspiracy theory. Every team in the hunt most likely has a video of some sort prepared just in case.

This is an all-time social media mistake. Quite literally affecting billions of dollars of industries between the NBA, gambling, & basketball merchandise. It actually gets 100x worse if LeBron DOESNT sign with the Heat.
