I can't stress this enough but this level of CO2 should horrify us

There’s people in prison in the UK right now for trying to warn you about this. I don’t think I can ever vote for Labour again at this point. @Keir_Starmer hasn’t got a clue what’s happening to the planet and won’t even broadcast the facts to the public.

The carbon cycle has been close to equilibrium through the Holocene; we know this because we measure atmospheric CO2 concentrations in ice cores. But in the past few centuries CO2 has increased by 50%, and is now at the highest level in millions of years due to human emissions.

It's extremely sad to see that in the past two years that I've been gone very little progress has been made by the world against climate change. Media and govs are still in denial. Nothing changed but everything got worse

So get this: the world's coral reefs disappear at 1.5C. We are past 1.5C now and heading for 2C . THEY ARE DONE. The point is not  "OMG all those lovely colourful things we see on David Attenborough are going to go" No The point is 25% of the world's fish will disappear as well. No The point is 1-2 billion people depend on those fish. 100s of millions of people will starve. You're right, it could 'just' be only 10s of millions. So that's okay then. No problem.

I think it’s time we were honest about the fact we are losing. The public deserve to know that and what it means for all of us. Scientists should be unifying and going to the media and telling them. That should sit outside media offices in their white coats until they are let on if needs be. Only a shock of the truth may wake people up. We can’t go on like this.

We won’t survive climate change at this rate because it would take professional people - business leaders, media executives, police leaders etc - to look at the science and say they are scared, like these scientists do.
