@clintonmead @Emilie_Dye @Urban_Immerser @SydneyYIMBY Also, as a libertarian, you should not be supporting a policy that gives people the choice to rely upon the state for their transportation. Opportunities for dependency should be eliminated. You should support the promulgation of private vehicles and parking spaces.

WTF?! If you allow developers to build building without parking, you’ll have both buildings available with and without parking. If you force developers to provide parking, you’ll ONLY have buildings with parking. The latter axiomatically provides less choice for renters and buyers. You could make the dumb argument that every home should have 10 bedrooms because then people have the choice to use between 1 and 10, but that’s a idiotic choice because choices are about cost-benefit decisions and there’s no choice if the cost is forced. So if you’re forcing car spaces you’re denying choice not enabling it because you’re forcing the cost. Forcing the cost one way is effectively denying the choice.

@Emilie_Dye @Urban_Immerser @SydneyYIMBY The problem is that the more buildings there are that have no parking, the less choice people actually have about living in a building with parking. Over time, we become a city reliant on public transport, which despite what you believe, makes us poorer and less free.

@RepThomasMassie Trick question. The answer is The Constitution. The United States is the only nation in the world that truly puts the rule of law above the rule of men, so much so that it’s oath of office doesn’t even mention the people but only the law itself.

The NSW Libertarians are standing firm: the forced shutdown of coal-fired power stations like Eraring is a direct assault on our regional communities. While city-based politicians chase virtue-signaling targets, the families of Lake Macquarie and the Hunter Valley are left facing a "managed decline." This isn't just about electricity; it’s about 1,800 local jobs and the survival of towns like Wangi Wangi and Dora Creek. Closing these plants before a reliable replacement is ready is economic sabotage. It risks skyrocketing bills, grid instability, and the destruction of high-wage industries that have powered this state for decades. The Libertarian solution is simple: No bans, no subsidies. We must stop the "climate alarmism" that prioritizes political agendas over people. We advocate for a level playing field—repealing the nuclear ban and ending the mandates that kill coal. Let the market decide our energy future, not bureaucrats. It is time to protect our regional heartlands, preserve our industrial heritage, and ensure energy security for all. Let’s stop the shutdown and put our communities first.

The problem so many people have is being stuck in echo chambers ob social media - which isn’t the greater world. Our country is in fact a more “left wing country”… even among men. So no, the polls aren’t off, elections aren’t rigged. It’s much worse than that… we actually are surrounded by Aussies who LOVE to be governed by a big government. The pendulum will swing eventually swing back our way… but it’s not going up happen over night.

@DavidLeyonhjelm @andrewjnorton I actually agree with Andrew’s argument that we should increase HELP fees on arts degrees due the government subsiding the difference between indexation and the market debt rate on outstanding debts, disproportionately so for arts graduates as they hold their debts for longer.

So many see an emergency as an excuse to switch to central planning, rationing, and other socialist systems. Price signals are more important than ever during an emergency. High prices incentivise production of scarce goods. Conversely, artificial price caps cause shortages.

Step 1. Destroy manufacturing with higher energy and labour costs, expanded union power 2. Declare himself smarter than a million informed market decisions 3. Announce more government subsidies and protection, policies that failed hopelessly in the pre-Keating era 4. Shield companies from competition so they can bludge on taxpayers and consumers, and then offshore from Australia when it suits them 5. Repeat Step 3

Post the wrong thing… get a knock at your door. NSW is expanding police powers while copying UK-style crackdowns. This isn’t about safety. It’s about control. I sat down with @JohnRuddick2 to have a chat about it. @LibertariansNSW

You may have seen the viral video going around of the former childcare worker defending her crush on a four year old boy because she 'didn't act on it'. We're all right to be disgusted by this, but just calling for her head won't solve the problem. We live in a society where government subsidies encourage people to have their children raised in dodgy childcare centres, all so the government can prop up a stagnant economy. Disturbing individuals like her are then attracted to work in places like that, and daycare centres are incentivised to just keep chasing the money. This is who is raising your children. Libertarians have a solution: stop subsidising these places and give the money directly to parents as means-tested vouchers. Then they can arrange nanny sharing services, pay trusted friends or family members, or even just take on less shifts at work and spend more time with their kids themselves. @LibertariansNSW

The NSW Libertarian Party opposes any Australian involvement in the war in Iran. Nevertheless, we're suffering for it and we need to adapt to the new economic conditions. I sat down with our party founder and Economist @JohnHumphreys99 to discuss which knee-jerk economic traps to avoid. Nervous laughter from me as this war will bring on tough times for Australians! @LibertariansNSW

Javier Milei: “Today, states don’t need to directly control the means of production to control every aspect of the lives of individuals.” “With tools such as printing money, debt, subsidies, controlling the interest rate, price controls, and regulations to correct so-called market failures, they can control the lives and fates of millions of individuals.”
